Chapter 37: WHY NOW!?!?

Octavia's POV

"So what do you want to do today?" I asked Aio

"well we could do turf-" he started but then the door burst open.

"Guys!" Frozo said I glared at him it was only a day ago from the double date and Aio still needed to heal from the fight it was December as well than I noticed something strange about him his hair seemed like lil judd's body

"Frozo your hair!" Aio stage whispered understanding dawned on his face and he ran his hand through his hair and it seemed to change back to normal was I seeing things?

"What is it?" Aio asked

"they got the cannon" he told us as my eyes widened we only had a week left.

Aio's POV

Why now!? Why did it have to be today that they get the cannon

"Are the suits ready?" I asked him he nodded

"yes now we're having a meeting at the cabin for the battle plan" he told me and then he left

"well this is horrible" I said she nodded

"Let's get ready," I said and we did.

We were at the cabin while Frozo was telling us about the almost finished suits

"OK so I've given each suit a customized special based on the person though only two are completely unique I'm still working on yours Aio but Octavia's and the rest of them are ready so we will have to practice with them for the rest of the week except for the last that day will be a break so you are ready and fully energized for this war now let's get training well except for me I need to attend a paladin's meeting but don't worry I'll be there to help" Frozo said.

The suits were great I felt like I could do anything with it I guess that was the suit helping still every suit came with a different weapon Frozo was still working on mine so I was just practicing movement with a normal ink brush instead of my new weapon Octavia was practicing with her new splatbrella Frozo dubbed 'deluge defender' which looked strong which is to be expected when Frozo's involved.

Anyways I looked across the training grounds it seemed that Frozo took inspiration from our adventures with TarTar for Pearl's and Marina's specials because pearl had her killer wail and Marina had what Frozo calls the 'Hyper Bomber'.

I looked towards Callie and Marie. Callie had a burst bomb launcher for her special and Marie had a stingray.

It seemed Frozo made each special fit for the person because I saw Kage with an Inkzooka but smaller for easy transport and with Sue it was tenta missiles but much bigger. I was wondering what my special would be because with Frozo he would go all out for the special.

I looked towards Octavia. It seemed that Frozo made her special Dual wielding because she had two of her new splatbrellas in her hands she seemed incredibly adept at it though she used to be an elite Octoling so it made sense.

It was the next day and Frozo had left for his meeting. It was his first one so it should be big for him. He had left my new inkbrush behind the tip looked familiar but I couldn't place it anyways he left a note explaining it was called the "typhoon" which I have to say fit it well it was lightweight and extremely durable while with each slash it seemed a wave of ink followed still the special was called SHOGUN in all caps to be clear I basically write a Kanji in the air and slash through it and it does it (for example if I do a wave kanji when I slash through it it unleashes an ink tidal wave) I really liked it though the tip still confused me.

Octavio's POV

It was thursday Aio's wounds from the double date had healed we had also finished training for the day and were walking home

"I've been wondering" I said

"about what?" Aio asked me

"well Frozo just seems well I can't really describe it" I tell him

"out of place, doesn't belong?" he asked I nodded

"well it's just the way he acts and his height along with just...him" I told him I didn't want him to get mad for asking this but he knows him more than me

"well in order to explain him I need to tell you a bit of backstory two years ago after the fight with Octavio I was seriously injured and had fainted right after defeating him that's when Frozo came he was confused that Octavio was already beaten then he saw me unconscious and literally about to die like literally my heart had stopped beating he then defibrillated me reviving me then he gave me a job for when I was healed up you see I thinks he's out of this world" he tells me I just looked at him confused

"and why do I need to know this?" I asked

"well he didn't use defibrillators and he had taken down people like Octavio before then" he tells me

"and well he can sometimes give others the cold shoulder and has trouble overcoming his instincts" he continued

"how is this relevant?" I asked him

"well I can't straight out tell you because I promised him but I am dropping hints like no tomorrow" he told me

"OK anything else?" I asked

"well just know that he's just trying to help and that he has shown me so much ever since he recruited me hey after this I could ask if you could join the team" he said

"ok, I'll think about it now, let's just get home" I said to him, he nodded.
