"It was better than being tucked in his shirt pocket, at least your hair smells good."
Adrien at least had the energy to look offended, while Plagg simply laughed at his expense. I was aware of the front door opening again, probably Marinette and Alya coming back.
"I should go, are we...good?"
"For now, yes. But I have a lot of questions."
He frowned a bit but nodded, a silent promise to answer them eventually. He stepped back a bit, putting his fist out to Plagg.
"Plagg claws out!"
He exclaimed and just like that he was transforming into Chat Noir right in front of me. Once he was back in the costume I cursed myself out at my stupidity, he looked so similar to his civilian form.
He stepped back into my personal space, cautiously taking my hand in his larger claw. He brought it up and kissed the back without breaking eye contact. I felt the familiar heat rise to my cheeks spreading down to my neck, but I couldn't manage to look away from his piercing green cat eyes. I blame it on their striking pupils rather than my stomach feeling like it was doing backflips.
"I didn't get to say it when I came in but you look gorgeous, green continues to be your best color."
He smirked at my nervousness, glancing down at my lips and then back up to my eyes.
"But I guess I'm a bit biased-"
Chat Noir glanced up frowning, and I could barely register the girls calling for me down the hall. He pulled away from me much to my disappointment.
"I should go."
"Ya, you'll be at the party though?"
He smiled softly.
"Of course Princess."
And just like that he was opening my window and climbing out into the snowy night.
My brain stayed frazzled as the girls helped me set up all the food and clean up the living room. When people started to arrive with gifts and food, I could barely focus. How could I not have seen this coming? It was so obvious.
I felt relieved but at the same time I couldn't help but feel manipulated, I told Chat some of my deepest secrets. I was reaching up to grab a glass to pour a drink into when it hit me like a pile of bricks had fallen from my cupboard onto me.
'Adrien knows I'm Echo.'
I wanted to be sick. My friends buzzed around me and I couldn't help but feel exposed, raw. I took a deep breath to steady myself and when I snapped back into reality I continued my task of grabbing as many glasses as possible.
I invited not just my friends but the majority of the class for the Christmas party, besides the notable stressors i.e Chloé, Lila, and Sabrina by association. Everyone decked out in dresses and dress shirts, talking in small groups around the living room and kitchen. The food was laid out on the kitchen island, now all that was left was the drinks.
Alix and Kim had somehow managed to bring four bottles of vanilla rum, from where I'm not sure. But both had requested they be added to the Christmas punch, which I conceded to as long as they wrote a note that said it had alcohol in it to put on the outside of the cooler.
I cleared the first two shelves of glasses now I was reaching for the glasses on the top shelf that I never used. I was mentally cursing myself for not just buying extra plastic cups, instead of using them for the pong table. I felt someone press up against me briefly brushing my fingers and grabbing the cup themselves before stepping back.
