"Ya Adrien talks about you a lot."
I paused.
He paused.
We both looked at each other with similar shocked expressions, it would have been comical if it weren't for the current situation.
"Holy shi-"
The doorbell rang out through the entire house, I stared at the door trying to convince myself it wasn't real until it chimed again. I looked back to Plagg, and down at his barely finished cheese.
In one huge swoop, I picked him up in my arms and ran to the door putting on a winter beanie I had hanging against it and placing Plagg under it before he could protest. I schooled my expression and answered the door.
"Merry Christmas!"
I was met with Alya and Marinette, both in short cocktail-style dresses and large winter coats. They were both carrying large bags of presents. I beamed at them.
"Merry Christmas guys! I'll take your stuff, sorry the house is a bit messy I just took Snickers out."
I easily slid a lie in to cover for the hat and water all over the floor. They hand me the bags and turn to walk back out into the cold.
"You always say your house is dirty when it isn't!"
Marinette rolls her eyes with a giggle.
"We have a few more things to grab from the car and then will head in!"
I nodded, shutting the door with a smile that cracked once it was closed. I set the stuff down and all but took off down the hall as fast as I could go in my black heels, slipping a bit on some water. Before I could think about what I was doing I whipped the door to the bathroom open.
Adrien was leaning against the sink and flinched a bit at my sudden intrusion before he realized what was happening.
"I can explain-"
"Shut up, we don't have much time!"
I grabbed him by the fabric of his shirt, launched him out of the bathroom, down the hall, and pushed him into my room.
He stumbled and caught himself in the center of the room, I slammed the door behind me and locked it. Not bothering to turn on the light, leaving us only barely illuminated by the glow of the moon peeking through my curtains. We only stared at each other for a second, and my mind for some reason locked on to the way his blonde hair shined in the moonlight.
'How could I have not seen it.'
"Adrien this is... this is crazy."
His frown deepened and he took a few steps toward me.
"I know, I wanted to tell you. Really!"
I put my face in my hands trying to calm my racing mind. I couldn't help but feel manipulated all those nights spent together, all the things I told him about in confidence were being said to a person I know and see almost every day.
But deep down I felt a strange sense of relief. It wasn't weird that I had a gut feeling about him anymore, it made sense. I felt his hands wrap around mine and pull them away from my face. He looked down at me, staring into my eyes intensely.
"I'm sorry, we're not supposed to share our identities with anyone. If I could have you would've been the first person I told."
"Well, technically you didn't tell me your kwami did."
I snorted, taking back my hand to remove my hat and releasing Plagg so he could fly between us.
"Sorry bout that Plagg, I panicked."
