I...was nowhere. The walls and floor seemed to have been moving on their own, and directly in front of me, there was a large sliding door. I checked behind me and the floor at my sides, where a familiar fox sat, staring patiently up at me.

With no direction to go but forward, I slid the door open and allowed my small companion to enter before doing so myself.
I was immediately greeted with the sight of a least thirteen others who didn't seem much older than me standing around the classroom.
"Who goes there?" A serious-sounding female voice questioned. When I looked to see who had asked, I made eye contact with a set of red eyes that seemed as if they could pierce through me. I immediately cast my gaze elsewhere and before I could answer, a softer sounding voice spoke.
"Are you, by chance, a freshman here too?" I looked to see a red-headed girl ask.
"Uh, yeah... Wait, then all of you are.."
"That's right. All of us are freshmen, too." Someone else said. I was a little overwhelmed by the number of people, so besides a...large guy asking me to step further into the room, I avoided making eye contact as much as I could.
But stepping further into the room seemed to startle someone.
"I-is that at f-fox?" A soft voice asked. I looked down at said animal, who was looking at something far in the back of the class, ears erect.
"Um..." I started. Then I realized that I was in a room full of Ultimates, just like me. I should be more confident. First impressions are important. I looked up and saw a young woman in nurse clothes shyly looking at the canine.
"Yeah. His name's Maru..but he's no threat, I promise." Still trying to avoid everyone, I awkwardly made my way into an unoccupied corner and sat down, and was left alone. I guess they got the memo that I didn't want to talk right now.
Blocking out the rest of their chatter, I focused entirely on Maru, who marched right on my lap and put his head under my hand, demanding that I pet him, which I did until the door I had entered through opened again, this time revealing a young boy with brown hair and eyes.
He and the others began discussing whatever, while I went back to caressing Maru. There's no point in trying to join their conversation. I have no people skills whatsoever. With his warm fur against my legs, I eventually began to doze off slightly, my head proper up with my free hand.
