Review:

Naoki Urasawa never fails when it comes to fcking with your mind. He never runs out of freaking ideas plus he adds a dash of humanity in it. He really good at bringing out the best and worst out of human nature.

This particular series might be confusing at first because it shifts a lot between the past and the present timeline, but eventually the missing content unravels slowly, creating a dramatically thrilling plot. Just like fine wine, it gets sweeter as it ages. You can't even count the plot twists in this one, they're just layered with one after the other, but it is perfectly arranged that you could still keep track of the happenings in the story.

I really like how the minor characters gets a chance to steal the spotlight from the main cast. They're not treated as "disposable" side characters, rather they are made essential for the development of the plot embodying the word "support" well. I also like how the cast ain't your typical badass/brainy/brawny/unique hairstyle or hair-colored peeps that are usually depicted in shounen and more of the mediocre everyday-people-you-pass-by-on-the-street. Sure, they may be wimps or people with no good social standing and sht but when push comes to shove, they actually have the balls to act and all. Overall, I'd say this manga is good at making something extraordinary out of the ordinary, like, bruh... what kind of sick bastard would bring to life some elementary kid's crazy dreams of world domination just for the hell of it? NAOKI URASAWA NAILED THAT CONCEPT BRO! Urasawa's creativity is just *chef's kiss*.

It's really sad how this manga is so underrated that even finding decent icons for the characters are hard to find :')

Favorite character/s:

Kenji. The chill hero/hippie/musician. He may seem mediocre but his strong beliefs and his determination to make sht right draws me in to his character.

Otcho/Shogun. This character gives ultimate husbando vibes. He's the type who still has a lot of charisma left even when he old and wrinkly, except he won't be old and wrinkly but still gray and robust.

Yoshitsune. The lowkey hero of the story. He may seem weak but in times of trouble he's always there to "keep the fort in place."
