Whatever these bastards wanted to make out of me... it sure did work, at least to them.

"With these enhancements, not only does our latest model greatly resemble that of our previous design, but possesses the potential to evolve far beyond the physical limitations of the base genetic structure. I christen the subject and its design... Project X and the Delta Gene."

"Delta Gene... why that name, Doctor?"

"It's the nature of the subject, he was made to evolve and change over time, adapting to the environment around him."

"But... doesn't it worry you that this could potentially be very detrimental not only to us and our program, but to the entire world if this were to be unleashed onto the public? Billions of innocent lives could be compromised..."

"Do you think me a fool? You've lost sight of our prerogatives to petty morality. This will be our Hail Mary pass in the struggle against the mutant race, if Logan couldn't be the one, then our next in line will be."

"...Dr. Cornelius..."

"Enough, begin the regeneration assessment."

With tensions exchanged between the personnel and several buttons and switches flicked, something activated within my containment tube that triggered an arm lined with a needle to be jammed right into my left cheek, just under my eye. What happened next... put me into such tremendous amounts of pain that would probably stick with me for the rest of my life... my body, started to burn, feeling my flesh starting to melt away from the inside out, blood, liquefied skin and muscle matter littering the tank, staining the water and glass red, it formed a very dense cloud that completely shrouded me from everyone in the observation room's line of sight. A few of the staff retched back in disgust and horror at the torment they were putting me through, but the head scientist... he felt no remorse for what he was doing, not a single shred of humanity from him as he just watched me suffer, all for his personal gain.

What's worse is that... I'm still alive, how the hell am I alive after all of that? Then, much to my horror, I looked around and caught a glimpse of my hands, which were nothing but bone, yet... they were chrome, I looked down at my feet, bone, chrome as well.

What the hell did they do to my body, is my skeleton metal?!!

Still in shock, I had begun to feel an odd sensation throughout what was left of my body, the feeling that... the rest of it was coming back. And sure enough, my flesh, skin, everything started to regrow over top of my now metal skeleton, muscles, organs, nerves and veins first, then my skin, nails and hair.

How did... how did that happen? Was it because of what they did to me? I couldn't understand why they were... using me like this.

"Astonishing results."

"Wait, what happened to the left side of his face?"

Apparently to them... there was a spot on my face that didn't heal all the way. the area surrounding my left eye socket. It wasn't completely decayed in a grotesque matter, but enough to be a deformity to the rest of me...

"He didn't finish regenerating? Hmm... well this is only a minor inconvenience, nothing detrimental to the experiment. Administer sedatives and bring him to his cell."

And just like that, my consciousness was stripped from me twice this time, leaving me at their mercy.
