Is it a friend?
Parents?
Spouse?
Or children?
Your greatest companion
is only and only
Your own self
You are your own best friend
Your worst critique
Your best cheerleader
And your worst enemy
So choose the narrative
That your head plays
And choose the words
Your heart says
Coz if you nurture your self
And your thoughts
With seeds,
you'll reap the sweet fruits
and fragrant, beautiful flowers
but if you plant poison
In the garden of your mind
it will give you toxic fruits
and destroy the land
your feet is grounded on
