Pierwotnie nazywany był Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum. Szpital ten działał w latach 1867-1995. Natomiast w latach określonych szczytem jego popularności przebywało tam nawet 1200 pacjentów jednocześnie. W swojej prawie 130-letniej historii zmarło tam około 9000 tysięcy ludzi. Teraz ani mieszkańcy Victorii, ani turyści nie mają kompletnie żadnych wątpliwości o tym, iż dusze nawiedzają ten budynek do dnia dzisiejszego. Dla śmiałków, chcących wejść do opuszczonego szpitalu są organizowane nocne wycieczki po tym miejscu.
