The day went on blandly, classes becoming mind numbingly repetitive and the bell for lunch inching closer and closer. My last class before lunch was English, which I disliked. I was never really good at writing, so that was a big chunk of this class I wasn't very good at. I still did try though, and I guess that's enough for me to pass. Our teacher droned on and on about the meaning behind a single line of a poem, driving me to the very edge of my consciousness. This was so borning. Its been like 20 minutes and we still haven't moved to the next line? I sigh as I glance up to the clock. Only a few minutes left, but it seemed like the clock ticked slower than ever. The rhythmic ticking not seeming to slow down, but never the less time just got longer. I stared down at my notebook in boredom, my brain on autopilot as I wrote down what she wanted. Why do the classes right before lunch always seem to last the longest? It was very inconvenient.

When the bell finally rang, I couldn't help but let out a sigh as I packed everything away. Finally, I can just go eat. My stomach had been screaming at me for hours, even more so than usual. I should have taken at least a granola bar this morning. I picked up my bags and went to head out of the room, but a hand on my shoulder stopped me. I turned around to see none other than Ms. Johnson, my English teacher, standing there.

"Hey, has everything been alright?" She asks quietly. "You've seemed off recently." I nodded to her and she took her hand off of my shoulder.

"Yeah, I've been fine. I'm just a bit tired." I respond. I just want to get out of here, Okuyasu and I were going to get lunch and I don't want to be late. She sighs and motions for me to go.

"Well, if you need anything, I'm here." She says before turning away. I quickly left the room behind and made my way through the halls and towards Oku's locker. We always met there before we got something for lunch. I rounded the final corner to see both Koichi and Okuyasu standing there waiting for me. I hope I didn't keep them waiting for long.. They waved happily to me as I walked over, plastering on my smile.

"Oi Josuke, what took you so long?" Oku says as we walk out of the school. His locker was right at the main doors, so the walk was short and easy.

"Ms. Johnson talked to me after class. It was nothing though." I said quietly. I didn't want to be so sad around them, hell, I shouldn't be. These were the people that really made me happy, why would I ever feel upset around them? Even through my thoughts and reasoning I couldn't help but just feel sad. We walked and talked until we reached a small sandwich shop. I felt in my back pocket for my money, having a near panic attack as I didn't find it. I let out a long sigh as I grabbed it from my other pocket. I wouldn't have wanted to lose it, that would make my day go in a downward spiral of sadness and hunger. I was probably being dramatic, but I didn't care.

We walked in and got ourselves some food, talking with eachother as we did. Most of our conversations could be seen as mindless banter, but in reality, it was just two dudes who share the same braincell having a wonderful and enlightening conversation about bread.

We paid and left, our usual daily routine. Heading back to the school Koichi got in a disagreement with us about how if your legs got cut off you wouldn't feel it.

"But where would you feel it!" Okuyaso said enthusiasticly. Koichi slapped his own face and groaned.

"Your leg wouldn't hurt, that bitch is gone!" I say, letting out a slight chuckle. Koichi gave us both a dry look and he sighed. I didn't genuinely believe that you wouldn't feel anything, but making Koichi go insane was certainly entertaining.

"That's not even slightly how that works!" He said as he massaged his temples. "C'mon!" Okuyasu crosses his arms and looks down to Koichi.

"You just know I'm right and can't handle it." He says smugly. God, he was such an idiot but it was amazing to watch him work. Did he really believe that? Maybe, it was certainly a possibility at this point. He seemed to be defending it to the death. Koichi looked around and spotted Yukako sitting on a bench nearby.
