Always read over your writing. My way to do this is for me to write it, have my english-loving-grammar-nazi friend read over and edit and change things when I'm done, then I will go through and rewrite half the book, have her read it again, then post the final copy. Sure no one is perfect but tif this doesn't work for you then nothing will.
Extra Tip: Have more than one friend read over it, this will also help make your story diverse.
