When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour spent together
Lives within my heart

Alastor softly sang to his audience up on the hotel stage. His eyes drifting to a certain cat demon as he poured his bleeding black heart into the lyrics, only to be met with a cold and uncaring gaze.

And when he was sad
I was there to dry his tears

Alastor drifted back to one of those nights when his beloved would end up drunkenly sobbing into his arms. Alastor wasn't the best when it came to comfort, but he'd spent much time alive comforting his older boyfriend when he would drunkenly break down. Alastor's heart used to clench seeing his lover cry, now it clenches knowing he'll never hold that crying man in his arms again.

And when he was happy so was I

It was rare to see Husk happy, Alastor knew him in life and death and probably only saw him genuinely happy maybe a handful of times, but that's how he knew it was rewarding to see. The way his eyes used to light up ever so slightly, his lips would curve up ever so slightly and subtly, how his voice would rise to match his excitement. Alastor fought back the tears as he continued the song. He knew he would no longer be the one to make Husk happy.

When he loved me

Alastor let the instrumental play the few seconds it did, his eyes locked with the emotionless black and gold eyes of the man he once loved, the ones that once loved him. His left claw clutched his heart while his right clutched his microphone. The eye of the microphone turned to look at him with concern, but Alastor only smiled softly down at it as he continued singing.

Through the summer and the fall
We had each other, that was all
Just he and I together
Like it was meant to be

Memories of when they were alive wearing scarves, gloves, and heavy clothing walking side-by-side as autumn leaves danced around them came first. Then the summer days when they'd stay inside fanning themselves trying to beat the heat, Husk always being the one to complain enough for the both of them. Alastor could almost chuckle at the memories, unfortunately, these memories were now bitter.

And when he was lonely
I was there to comfort him

Those drunken nights came back again, who knew he'd miss watching his beloved drunkenly sob and rant his problems away in his arms so much? He most certainly didn't, or else he would have done things different, he didn't know what, but he'd have done whatever it is Husk wanted out of him just to keep him.

And I knew that he loved me

After these lyrics, Alastor no longer could control the tears as they pushed out of his eyes and down his narrow cheeks.

So the years went by
I stayed the same
But he began to drift away
I was left alone

It was true, apart from his appearance and powers, he hadn't changed much from when he was alive, he was always the smiling charismatic radio host and he always will be. Yet, when the two reunited in hell, Husk seemed so cold and distant, he started to treat him like he would anyone else, and without his beloved Husk...what else did he have? Who else did he have?

Still I waited for the day

Alastor bites his bottom lip, forcing the lyrics out of his mouth.

When he'd say "I will always love you"

He couldn't help but notice the tears falling down the gorgeous deer demons beautiful narrow grey cheeks. The two didn't get along in the past, this was true, but his heart simply couldn't stand the sight of the red and black haired man crying. The truth is he loved the radio demon, though he didn't show it. He couldn't help but glare at the cat demon, Alastor had been staring at him all night, surely he was the one who did this to Alastor.

Lonely and forgotten
Never thought he'd look my way
And he smiled at me and held me
Just like he used to do

Alastor was taking a stroll around the hotel that night when it happened. Husk had once again drunkenly stumbled into Alastor, Alastor having to bite his bottom lip to repress the memories. He sighed as he picked up the intoxicated cat taking him to his room, he gently laid him down, but as he was about to leave the room, a familiar paw grabbed his wrist. He turned back only to see Husk with a smile. He almost broke down right there when he saw his beloved smiling at him, the same smile of the man that used to love him. Unfortunately, the moment was short lived as Husk quickly passed out, leaving Alastor standing beside him.

Alastor wasted no time in getting to his bedroom, and once he did, the tears couldn't be stopped anymore and ugly broken sobs forced there way out. What happened to them? What happened to the love they shared? What was it that caused them to drift apart? He didn't know, but these questions ate away at his heart as he cried that night.

Like he loved me
When he loved me

Alastor finished the song then left back stage to clean his face. He sighed as he couldn't even get Husk to show any interest in him, much less regret, but what else could he expect from him? Alastor looked in the mirror to see his smile was struggling to stay plastered on his face, something that rarely happened, he always smiled. He curled up crying from the pain in his chest. He could faintly hear the rustle of the curtains moving, then felt a hand softly caress his cheek, as he slowly opened his eyes, they widened in shock seeing who it was. "Pentious?" he spoke, his voice now crackly from crying. The snake demon looked down at him continuing to caress Alastor's cheek, to which he started to nuzzle the older demons hand. Pentious held Alastor close and started whispering sweet nothings in his ears, his voice helping to calm the heartbroken deer. As Alastor stayed in Pentious arms, the pain in his chest started to be replaced with warmth, a warmth he hadn't felt in such a long time. Alastor slowly started to hug the serpent back, the tears stopped as he melted in Sir Pentious arms.
