When I was young, My mom always told me 'Rachel, I know that when you are older you will have your dream life with your dream job, home and husband.'
And she was right. I do have my dream husband and soon moving into my dream apartment with the money I got from my dream job as a waitress. If she was still here, I would thank her.
My mom died two years ago of lung cancer, which really left a hole in my heart that never healed. Until Josh came around, or should I say my dream guy.
Before Josh, I was in a huge depression. A depression that felt like I was trapped in a room with no doors or windows to escape. After Josh I felt like a whole other person. I had things that I hadn't experienced during my depression.
My grades went up, I had friends, and most importantly, I had him. I had everything that I dreamed about.
And today is when my dream will happen! Today is the day that I am moving into an apartment with Josh. Well, it's technically tomorrow, but it's about midnight right now.
"I'm excited for tomorrow babe." Josh smiles at me through the computer.
"Me too." I glanced at him and smiled.
"I have been counting the days." He smile widens me causing me to smile back
"I have too." I said looking over to my calendar, "I have the day circled in red hearts."
He giggles, "You love me."
"I do love you. More than you'll ever know." I blush.
"You look cute tonight." He cracks a smile, "How do you feel about moving into the apartment?"
"I am excited, but at the same time nervous." I answer.
"I'm excited too, but there's no reason to be nervous. We have our life planned out." He mumbled.
"You're tired?" I questioned
"Yeah, a little bit. I think I'm gonna go to bed." He laid his head down on his pillow.
"Ok. See you tomorrow." I said with a smile giving him a kiss through the camera.
I hung up and placed my hands on my heart. I love Josh. I know I will love him forever. In my future I can see myself with him. I could see myself married to him. I could see us having kids. I can see myself growing old with him. He was the love of my life.
I started to get ready for bed by changing into an old t-shirt and a pair of black sweatpants and putting my hair up into a messy bun, what I usually wear when I go to bed. Then brushing my teeth and washing my face, another part of my nighttime routine.
But I can't predict the future. Maybe I'm wrong and we won't get married and live the life the way we planed it. Josh and I do have our lives planned out the way we want it though. I am almost sure it will be the way we planned.
We have already discussed many questions like where were going to live and how many kids we're going to have. Our future is set up like a schedule. We know everything we want to happen in our future.
...
I woke up not to my alarm, but someone stroking my hair. I was guessing thst it was Josh.
"Josh, is that you,"
"Yep." He said wrapping hs arms around me.
"When did you get here," I changed my position so I was sitting on the bed in front of him. The sun peeked through my blinds and into my hazel eyes.
"About five minutes ago," Josh walked over to the blinds and opened them.
"I forgot to set an alarm last night," I covered my eyes from the sun.
"It's ok, at least I came over to wake you up," He looked into the mirror that was hung up on my wall and fixes his hair.
"Yeah," I walk towards him and took the mirror off the wall , "I still have to pack up a few things."
"I see," His eyes wander the room, "I brought you breakfast."
"You did?" I let out a mumbled gasp.
He nods his head yes.
"Thanks Josh," I lean over to him and peck his lips.
"You're very welcome sweetheart," He pulls me close into a tight hug and pecks my forehead.
"I should probably start to pack up my stuff," I put the mirror into the box.
Josh intertwines our hands, "Breakfast first."
"Ok fine, breakfast first,"
...
"Do you really need to get ready for moving," Josh complains to me.
"I'm almost done," I commented.
"Good, because they're here," He opens the door on me curling my hair.
"Josh, I told you I would be out in a minute," I turn off the curling iron and brushed through my hair.
"Sorry, you look pretty. I couldn't help it," He leans up against the door frame.
"Thanks," I smile at myself as I put the curling iron and brush back in it's bag," Ok. I'm ready."
"Finally," He sighs.
"Don't complain, I was getting ready. Bet you put gel in your hair." I tease.
"I did." He siged again
"Knew it. Ha!" I giggle at him.
"Whatever," he rolls his eyes and opens the door for me to walk through.
"Thank you," I smile at him and walk out of the door. Josh following behind me.
"There's my girl," Dad turns his head to me. I can see that there are tears in his eyes.
"Hi dad," I smiled and wrapped my arms around him.
"I'm so happy for you, and I know your mother is too," He pulls me into a hug. I could feel a tear stream down his face and onto my shoulder.
"I'll miss you." I said wiping tears from my eyes.
"I'll miss you too Rachel," He takes of his glasses and rubs the lenses on his shirt.
"Dad please don't cry," I take the glasses out of his hands and place them on his face, "It'll make me more sad."
"Ok," He wipes his eyes under the glasses, "Call me when you get there."
"Ready to go babe?" Josh puts a hand in my shoulder.
"Yeah, I'll be in the car in a minute," I sniff.
"Bye Dad. I'll make sure to call you, promise." I choked back my tears.
"Bye sweetheart, I love you," He pulls me into a hug one more time before letting me go.
"Ok, you ready to go?" I asked sitting down in the car beside Josh.
Josh looks at me and snickers.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, it's just your mascara, it kind of...."
"Oh come on," I grab my sunglasses from out of my purse and put them over my eyes.
"Ok, you ready to go," Josh starts the car.
"Yeah, I'm ready," I roll down the window, "Bye dad! I love you!"
