two months later

it's been two months. two months since i walked out on the man i love. i don't know how and when i fell in love with joel but i just..did, i guess. Violet bought me a new phone and a new SIM so that, and i quote, 'Mr Hot But Abusive Ex Boyfriend' can't contact me anymore.
to be honest i kinda miss him. i don't know how you can miss someone who hurts you but for some reason i am
(omg i'm sorry for the rambling)
*lets just skip to a better part*
i'm finishing up my shift at Starbucks when i see something that catches my eye. a man. not just any man. Joel Pimentel. "Kara can we please talk?" i look him over. his eyes are puffy and glossy, his hair is messy and his shirt is crinkled. he looks like a mess. "what do you want joel?" i say, masking the emotions i'm feeling. "i'm sorry. i'm so so so sorry. i was jealous of how all the guys looked at you and i guess i let my anger out on you. i never meant to hurt you. in fact i.." he looks away
"you what?" i cross my arms over my chest and walk closer to him.
he looked at me reluctantly
"i love you" he whispered and kissed me.
i can't think straight. i pull him closer.
.....until Vi intervenes.
"KARA!!!" she exclaims so loud half the people in the cafe turn to stare at us. she gives them an apologetic wince and turns to me. "we need to talk. right the hell now" she hisses and stabs her thumb in the direction of the store room.
before i leave , joel grabs my hand "if she's okay with this, could you come with me after your shift? i wanna show you something"
"don't worry i'll convince her and yes, i will go on a date with you" i smile
giving him a last kiss on the lips, i walk towards the store room to convince my best friend about my boyfriend.
