chapter 9

today (may 19th, 2020) IS MY BIRTHDAY YAY!!

ken's pov

i hope he liked the pancakes. i hope the note wasn't too cheesy. i hope-
*knock knock*
i didn't invite anyone over? i open the door but before i could tell who it was i'm engulfed in a hug. wait i know this hug anywhere. ethan. he set down and walked in so i could close the door. we're just cool like that.

"well hello to you too" i say jokingly

"thank you" he says with a stare that was kind of intimidating

"what for?" i say pretending i didn't know what i did this morning

"for making me breakfast, for paying me back even though i told you not to... for forgiving me when i thought you wouldn't" he says getting quieter towards the end

"you don't have to thank me. i did it because i value our friendship. i couldn't let that go to waste. who else am i supposed to send ugly pictures on snapchat too?" i say trying to lighten the mood. he chuckles at my statement as he pulls me onto him so now we're both lying on the couch as he pulls me on top of him. i forget our position for a second just allowing the butterflies in my stomach to erupt for a moment. after a minute or two reality set in

"oh shoot ethan i'm probably too heavy to be laying on you, i'll get off" i say hurriedly trying to push myself off of him but unfortunately all he did was tighten his grip on my waist and force me back down allowing his head to be placed in the crook of my neck. oh no here come the butterflies again.

"you are NOT heavy kennedy" he used my full name... he meant it

"if anything I'M the heavy one. just lay here and cuddle me pleaseeeeee?" he says into my neck, his breath giving me multiple goosebumps. how is he so attractive yet sweet at the same time?

i just sigh, "okay eth. whatever you want" i say softly into his ear.

i just calmly listened to his heart beat and eventually the darkness took over me and the last thing i remember is laying in ethan's arms feeling safe and protected
