       simple.

taehyung threw away the letter seokjin gave him. he had no reason to hold a grudge against seokjin anymore, but enough had happened between the two of them that taehyung could let go of the older boy without much pain.

"I missed our old house." jungkook said. he and taehyung were moving back- it was still their house, after all. jay was on jungkook's lap, looking about as excited as jungkook did. she was so calm under jungkook's and taehyung's intertwined fingers, hardly even shifting, and taehyung wondered if cats had a strange sixth sense where they could sense love-

"a lot of our furniture is destroyed." jungkook said, staring at the trees. "but that's okay, because we can just buy a bunch of new furniture. I think we should design our house in a more simple way this time; we had so many knick-nacks-"

taehyung let jungkook talk on and on about the simplicity he dreamed of in his dream house as he watched the road. he thought about everything that had happened over the past year and a half and laughed quietly to himself, because it had been one hell of a ride, where things were so complicated, and now here he was, with his someone in the passenger seat, a cat on his lap, and a happy life ahead of him.

taehyung felt like the luckiest man on earth (or perhaps just the most in love).
