Over the years the superstitious belief that cats are associated with the Devil and demons has never fully gone away. Some people still believe that when a black cat crosses your path it's bad luck. But that's just silly superstitions........ Isn't it?

Early in the year of 2003 a girl of 16 was living life as best as any 16 year old could. She was a good girl, loved by any who met her. A pretty girl, with auburn hair and blue eyes. She had great friends and outstanding grades. Her home life was as perfect as anyone could imagine, with loving parents and an easy life. Though all this didn't stop her parents from thinking that they had gone wrong somewhere when they found their little girl's lifeless body hanging from a rope tied around her neck, around the railings from her ceiling. Everyone who knew her was interviewed, about what she was like and how they thought she was doing. They all replied with the same thing "She was a sweet girl who always had a smile on her face, she always seemed so happy. The investigation was closed and no one noticed the girls cat hadn't moved from the bed. It's eyes scanning the girls body when it was still hanging from the railing, purring as it stretched out over the blankets.

That same year, a 10 year old boy with black hair and green eyes was found by his parents in his bathtub, underwater and no longer breathing. He appeared to have drowned in the bathtub when he fell asleep after taking almost a full bottle of sleeping pills. His family was interviewed and it seemed this family had a few more 'issues' when it came when it came to home life. His parents were abusive, alcoholic, drug addicts and his school life was no joy-ride either. So at least this time around it seemed to make sense, even with his age. So just like that the investigation was closed. No one noticed the family cat had not moved from its place on the bench in the bathroom, staring at the boys body until it was taken away, purring as it left.

In a small town, still in 2003, a 4 year old girl was asleep in her bed. A beautiful girl with blonde hair and golden-brown eyes. If you knew this family, you would know this girls real name to be Rebecca. In the dark of the night, the families new black cat came stalking into the little girls room. Tail up in the air, it walked to the shadows at the edge of the room and sat down. A crack sounded through the room and the cats neck broke, and then more cracks and snaps echoed throughout the room as the black cats body seemed to snap and break over and over. A man emerged from out of the darkness, where the cat once stood. Stretching and cracking his neck into place, he made his way over to the sleeping girl and leaned over her small form. The mans eyes gleamed, a shiny red. Rebecca turned in her sleep and let out a sigh, still in a deep sleep. The tall, suited man let out an evil chuckle and began to speak in an ancient language, a language foreign to our world. Then when the final word was spoken, he simply placed a finger to the 4 year old's forehead and disappeared. A black cat walked out of the room as shadows inside Rebecca's mind. Darkening as the years passed. At the age of 10, the darkness started to corrupt the girls mind. At 11 a friend of the girls died and with them so did Rebecca's happiness. She hurt her self again and again. Then one day everything became too much. In her bedroom with the pocket knife her uncle had given her, she brought the blade to her throat. A knock at the the door had her rushing to hide the pocket knife and the new cut on the back of her neck. Rebecca's mother came in to find the knife under her pillow and the cut on her daughters neck. She gave her sleeping pills and with that Rebecca went to bed. Now 15 years old, she had tried many times to end her life but thankfully was interrupted every time. Meeting her and befriending Rebecca, I would have never of known that she was in so much pain, she seemed happy enough. Though I seem happy enough too. The darkness we had gotten as a gift from the strange man with red eyes, has gotten to us. But where darkness is lurking, light is always there to help us fight our way through it. For if demons and the Devil exists, then angels and God would too.

Rebecca is based off of a friend of mine, no that doesn't mean this story is real :P  Any other charcters I just made up..... Obviously.
