In my short seventeen years of living I've had quite a few bad ideas, that I can admit. But this tops the list. Staying up the night before beginning at a new school was possibly the stupidest decision I've ever made. My eyes barely had enough strength to stay open.

"...so as you can see Miss Willows, this school is one of the most prestigious in the country, and I can assure you that you will have the best of the best. What do you think?"

The headmaster, was a tall lanky man with thinning grey hair, stared intently at me with his wise brown eyes. Remembering he had asked me a question I nodded, a heavy exhaustion settling on my bones. As much as I wished to voice my less that enthusiastic response, years politeness drilled into my DNA only allowed for a short - "Yes. Thank you Mister Collins."

"Right, well, you'll be staying in room number 117 in Calderwood Dorm. Classes start at seven thirty and I expect you to be prompt. There are standards here, Miss Willows, that I expect you to uphold. Make no mistake, there will be punishment if you miss class." Only with the years of training was I able to keep a straight face, he had no idea.

"Everything you need should be in the information packet I gave you at the beginning of the tour."

He gave me a quick smile before walking off down one of the many beautifully paved brick pathways.

The new school that my father had sent me to was absolutely stunning. It had a beautiful green campus that was old and big enough to be classified as a castle. At least, that's what it looked like. The campus grounds were well manicured and beautifully laid out, half hidden in the middle of a deep and ancient forest.

The dormitories were situated a little further away from the main campus to allow for privacy. Mister Collins had said there were two girls dormitories, Montgomery and Calderwood. Calderwood, from what I remember, is for the seniors.

I looked down at the map he had handed me, and stared at the less than eligible letters that floated around the page. Giving up on that with I sigh I headed to the one place I had actually taken note of on the small tour I was given. The Dining Hall.

At this point in time I could really use with a nice cup of coffee right about now. Maybe even some food- oh shit I hope they have nice food. My thoughts trailed off as I entered the behemoth of a dining hall.

The hall was as beautiful as the rest of the school. From a quick glance around I took note of the absence of students and silently cheered. My examining was abruptly halted when I spotted the only table covered in snacks and urns. Without much thought, I bounded up to the table, finding the sudden energy to skip, and filled up my plate with as much sugary goodness I could find. Coffee came next. Sweet and bitter at the same time, I took a gulp of the warm goodness and shoved half a doughnut into my mouth at once.

"Just a little hungry sweetheart?" At the sound of the voice I turned to face the boy who was giving me a very amused smile. With a glance I easily took in the stunning blood red hair and freckled face, and with a mouth half full I gave a muffled sheepish answer as I covered my mouth to prevent the food from escaping,

"Just a tad,"

"You do know that that's the Staff table?"

I felt heat crawling up my neck as tried to swallow. I probably looked more like a regurgitation vulture with the way that was working out.

"Oh yeah of course I totally knew that," I finally managed to choke out. But of course, with the luck I live by something had to go wrong. The sound of chattering voices could be heard entering the dining hall and with a panicked look at the wide eyed boy he cursed,
