Chapter 2.

Five years ago 

Artemis pov

The door burst open revealing a man in a white lab coat. He walked down the hall filled with cages. The animals backed away into the corner of their cages in fear. Some sighed in relief as the man walked past them. The man seemed to look straight at me. He stopped in front of my cage and just as I was bracing myself for the pain, his gaze shifted towards the right...facing Athena with a sadistic grin. 'No no no not her'

 The man roughly grabbed her and started dragging her out of her cage, towards the lab. She stared at me and gave me one last weak smile before the door slammed closed. I squeezed my eyes shut as I listened to her screams.

 'I've had enough of this...today. Today is the day. We're getting out of here.'
