*POP!* ....*POP!*

'That didn't sound good, I have to stop this thing!' Y/n thought as she tried to reach her leg over to kick the switch up.

Scooting down she was able to get her foot up there to reach the wrench. She tried to push it up, but it was so heavy it might as well be stuck or glued in. So she did her best to  push it up *CLICK*

The ship stopped, and then--

"COMMENCING SHUTDOWN! ACTIVATING POWER SAVING MODE!" A computerized voice said, to which the ship stopped moving completely, and the lights seemed to dim. The only light was from Gir's eyes, a few dim glowing buttons and lights on the console, and the vast space outside filled with many many stars. The stars were probably the brightest thing, so bright they almost shone like a super moon. Giving a sort of blue moonlight glow in the ship. Y/n would've stopped and admired the scene if Zim wasn't currently gasping for air.

She could hear him clearly now, his claws were digging into her shoulder as if trying to cling onto life," HUff hEh HUff heh Ehuff.. *wheeze*. EhEUff... Huff."

Y/n's mind was blank on what to do," C-calm down calm down...Sh-ssshhhh, calm down calm down," Y/n said sitting up, Zim still in her arms. Gently she tried rubbing his back, hoping it would help calm him down. If trying to calm him down would help him at all, he probably is panicking which would make things worse. Y/n hoped this would pass soon.

Since the ship had stopped Zim felt a little better, but not by much. He didn't want to move, didn't even mind Y/n holding him. It was almost comforting. Y/n was warm, contraray to the cold he felt. And even though Y/n's warmth wasn't enough to get rid of the chill, it was still a nice feeling. Though not a feeling he will confront and admit.
Zim was still mostly focused on breathing, not sure what to do. And was nearly startled when Y/n had spoke and started to gently rub his back above his PAK. Then strangely to him, he started to breathe better. Feeling less paniced and more calm. Zim was perplexed with how Y/n had done this to him with such simple actions. How?? He thought. It didn't make sense to him.

*Clck Clck CLck-Wwhirrrrr CLck! CLCK! Clck!*

The noise from Zim's PAK surprised Y/n,'Is this something I should be worried about? Is he going to explode?'

"What's wrong with Master?" Gir said worriedly peeking over.

"I-I D-don't know.....I don't know," Y/n responded still rubbing Zim's back, which only reminded her how small he was, that feeling of holding a small animal still there. Y/n looked down at Zim, seeing his wide panicked ruby eyes that seemed to glisten. Y/n could only wonder what was running through his mind.

Zim's breathing seemed to get better, he wasn't hyperventilating. He wasn't breathing normally, but better. Out of breath. He moved himself to bring his legs closer to himself, almost curling up into a ball.

And finally, he spoke," I need to fix my PAK...I need to stop the ship's fluids leaking!"

"But how??" Y/n asked having trouble imagining Zim doing anything right now.

----

Zim pushed himself off of me, standing wobbly. He then starts to lean and his legs just seemed to give up on him. Hopping off the chair I moved to wrap an arm on his shoulder while I held his other arm with my other hand, trying to help him keep his balance.

"Are you okay??" I asked worriedly.

But Zim just shrugged me off, "Get off me!-huff- I don't need -huff....your help human! -COFF COFF-"

I was slightly taken aback by this, well what more could I have expected from him? I thought as I watched him weakly hand on the chair as he stared blankly trying to catch his breath. Carefully sliding his hand across it as he unsteadily walked to the back of the ship, eventually leaning on the wall. He was still shivering, I don't think he's okay. Well, no shit he's not okay. But is he going to be okay?
