Prologue

A wedding... After everything that's happened... they're finally here. It took running from USSIDA... and losing Ross for them to finally get here...

Nikita and I stand off to the side, next to the piano. The fur begins the keys and I start, "Thought I was good, I was good, on my own I was alright..."

"Thought I was grown, and the strangers I'd known they were alright," Nikita sings.

"Thought that I knew everything, never wrong, I was all right," I follow.

"Oh, I was good, I was good, on my own I was alright," Nikita breathes.

"Oh I lived a whole life, thinking I knew how my - heart could handle love - a, love I thought I knew."

"Everything before us... was stretching out my heart just - so it could be big enough to beat... for two..."

Nikita and I look to one another before singing, "Never understood why, people always said love chooses you. Now I do. Now I do..."

Nikita falls silent as I sing, "Didn't ever think that I could ever say I promise you...."

"This the road, we can see where it goes together.... You are my home and I know I can stay - forever," I hold her paw.

My eyes drift off to the fur at the altar... He looked like Nyokai... Peyton... Nyokai... but it wasn't him... "Everything before us... was stretching out my heart just - so it could be big enough to beat... for two..."

The doors swing open, pushing aside the loose vines as they do. "Never understood why, people always say love chooses you... Now I do... Now I do.... Didn't ever think that I could ever say I promise you... Now I do... Now I do... Now I do... Now I do...," we sing together as Levi leads Channing, Louise, Donna,and Rowan with his father down the aisle.

Nikita stops and I fall quiet, "Used to be a time when - I thought that I had nothing to lose... Now I do... Now I do..."

Rowan walks up onto the altar, and takes Nyokai's paws into his. Azuma clears his throat before saying, "We are gathered here on this blessed day to recognize the union between Rowan... and Ross... Two lovers. D'Kuma, the cups."

The bear stood up from the first bench, one cup of water in each paw. He hands one to Nyokai, and one to Rowan.

"Each cup is filled with water from the Spirit Falls. Though Ross only temporarily occupied Nyokai's body, this water will ensure that Ross will forever be with you Rowan... but first... Ross?" Nyokai looks to Azuma. "Do you take Rowan to be your husband?"

A smile dances across Nyokai's face, "I do."

"And Rowan... do you take Ross to be your husband?"

"I do...," Rowan says, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Azuma dips his thumbs in each cup before dragging it across their foreheads, the water shining for a moment. "You may now kiss the groom,"Azuma smiles.

Rowan smashed his lips into Nyokai's but they weren't Nyokai's... they were Ross's... in that moment, they were Ross's lips.

"Never understood why people always said love chooses you," Nikita sings.

"Oh-ohhhh," I rip.

"Oh yea... ohhhhhhhhhh," I sing soulfully.
