“What do you need help with?” I keep my voice as neutral as possible. I don’t really wanna be here.

“Damn Evie,” Tony coughs under his breath.

“Excuse me?” I get face-to-face with Tony.

“You’ve been acting so freakin’ prissy these last two days. I didn’t realize I was dating such a nightmare.”

“Screw you Tony.” I turn around to walk towards the door and Tony’s hand grabs my wrist.

“Ev.” He sounds worn out. “I’m sorry. Can we just talk?”

I turn around to face him. “What?"

“I’m sorry.” Tony says again. “I’m sorry for not telling you about the gang, sorry about Keisha, sorry about the kiss. I’m sorry about everything baby.”

My hands find themselves around Tony’s neck and I rest my head on his shoulder.

“And I’m sorry too,” I finally whisper. “I don’t mean to be that annoying girlfriend. I just… care about you so much Tony.”

“I know.” Tony kisses my ear. “And I love you for that.” We pull apart a little and Tony’s hands rest on my waist. “No secrets… I promise you.”

“Okay.” I want to say more but instead find my lips on Tony’s. “I love you so much.” Before I know it, we’re making out and I can’t take the smile off my face.

“Um… excuse me?” Donny walks into the room shyly.

I break away from the kiss quickly and Tony walks towards Donny.

“What’s up little man?” Tony bends down so that they’re eye-to-eye.

“Um.” Donny hangs his head down. “Me and Emily are hungry.”

Tony smiles. I’ve never noticed it before but he has this special smile that he only shows when he’s talking to Emily or Donny. It’s absolutely adorable.

He leans forward and whispers something in Donny’s ear. Donny rest his hands on Tony’s shoulders as he whispers to him. I take out my phone and take a secret pic of the two of them. It’s probably the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

Donny nods when Tony is done talking, gives him a quick hug, then goes running into Emily’s room.

“What’d you tell him?” I ask Tony when he comes back.

“Nothing mamas.” Tony pecks me on the cheek. “Now lets make some huevos rancheros.

“This is a little too spicy.” Donny coughs wildly into his hands.

“Aye.” Tony rushes to the fridge and pours Donny a tall glass of water. “Here little man.”

Donny wraps both his hands around the glass and sucks up the water. Tony keeps hold of the glass in one hand and cradles the back of Donny’s head with his other hand.

“You okay?” Emily asks with a mouthful of food.

Donny nods and wipes his mouth when he finishes the water. “I don’t like how spicy it is Tony.”

“I’m sorry lil man.” Tony scoops up Donny’s plate. “I’ll get some plain eggs, okay?”

“Okay.”

“I feel like a bad boyfriend for not knowing the answer to this question, but what do you want to do? Like as a profession?”

Tony and I are sitting on his living room couch after an amazing breakfast. We put a movie on for Donny and Emi in Emi’s room and we’ve been enjoying the time alone. Tony is reclined in the couch and I am sitting between his legs, leaning into his chest.

“First of all, you’re not a bad boyfriend.” I sip the tea that Tony made for me. Everything tastes better at Tony’s house. “I think I want to be a marine biologist.”

“What’s that mamas?” Tony starts playing with my hair, curling and uncurling it between his fingers.

“It’s someone who studies life in oceans and rivers. I wanna do research and and just explore sea life.” I cradle Tony's wrist in my arms. He took his sling off when we sat down and I've been holding it since.

“I think that’s really cool Ev.”

I turn around to see Tony’s smiling and he pecks me on the lips.

“What?” he asks when I keep staring.

“Nothing.” I turn back around. “I just love moments like this.”

“Me too.”

Before I know it, I’m falling asleep in Tony’s arms.
