Being an idol is really hard. Your privacy is invaded, your supposed to be alone time turns into a fan service time just because a fan saw you. But, what can you do? You chose that, right? Still, idols deserve to have their privacies and alone time limited to them or to whom they want to be with. Maybe, friends and family?
Chanyeol, a soloist and one of the idols of today's time was given a week to enjoy, do whatever he wants. He can go shopping, sleep all day, eat whatever he wants, go to wherever he wants. Anything, as long as it pleases him. But only for a week.
Maybe it's a reward? His promotions were all successful. He even became the top idol in his country and in neighboring countries.
Lying on his king-sized bed and doing nothing was never Chanyeol's tea. He's used to moving around, travelling from place to place for a shoot and such, but today is an exemption. This week is an exemption. He decided to visit his parents and his older sister who's also on a break from being a reporter. Back when his schedules were not that "super tight", he usually visits his parent's restaurant to offer help.
After preparations, he decided to head to the said place. He wants to surprise them and spend the whole week with them. It's part of his plans. Besides, he really wants to help. His face alone can gather lots of customers. His family's business was not hidden to his fans because of media.
As he arrived, lots of people were crowding inside. It's almost lunch time. Seems like his timing was a bit off? Sure, he wants their restaurant to gain customers.
He didn't bother eating before heading there that's why he decided to line up for food. He's on disguise anyway. Gladly, Yoora, his sister is currently on the counter taking payments and orders from hungry customers.
"Welcome to Viva Polo! What's yours?" Yoora said smiling when he is now in front.
"Just give me whatever's in there." He replied.
"Well, coming up!" Yoora said.
"Just find a seat bro. You know it's kinda full." Yoora whispered then winked at him.
No matter what he looks like, or whatever he's wearing, Yoora would still be able to recognize him. Plus, his ears are really recognizable. And they're siblings, that's why.
Heaving a sigh, Chanyeol looked around to see if there's any seat available despite the number of customers. His eyes then spotted a brunet sitting alone on a corner. The brunet was reading a book which caught his attention.
"Just bring it there, noona." He pointed to where the brunet is sitting.
"Sure, wait a little." Yoora giggled and looked at him with teasing eyes.
As Chanyeol took a seat in front of the brunet, he looked at the one who sat in front of him. The brunet is reading an unfamiliar book.
Looks like the smaller didn't notice him. Yet. He's too engrossed with that book of his.
While waiting for his food, he examined the boy's appearance. His black, curly hair, his long, slender fingers, and his milky white skin.
Gorgeous. He said.
The boy's forehead will suddenly crease which Chanyeol thinks he read something that annoys the boy. And lastly, his eyes full of emotions while reading.
"It's bad to stare at people. They might think you're a perv." The boy suddenly said.
Chanyeol, who was obviously taken aback from that sudden remark cleared his throat before speaking.
"I'm s-sorry. It's just that... You're too occupied with what you're reading so I thought you didn't notice me." Chanyeol said then looked down. As an idol, he never felt embarrassed like this. What the boy said is true tho.
The boy just looked at him, more like glanced before facing his book again.
Did he not notice me?
Chanyeol took his mask a while ago when he was walking towards the boy's direction.
They were silent when his food came.
"Enjoy, bro. Yoora, who was the one to deliver his food, looked at the boy in front of him then smiled. The boy smiled back. She then pat his back before leaving.
"I did notice you. You are Park Chanyeol, aren't you?" The boy spoke just when he was about to start eating.
"Uhh... Yeah. But, how did you know?" Chanyeol asked.
"What? That you're Park Chanyeol? Do I really need to answer that?" The boy replied.
"N-no... I was asking how did you know that I was somehow thinking if you did notice me or not." Chanyeol replied.
"It's all over your face. You look like you're internally saying that 'Did he noticed me or not? I'm Park Chanyeol, the Park Chanyeol.'"
"Ah yeah. I'm sorry, I just sat here without informing you."
"It's okay. Besides, this place is yours."
Chanyeol just nodded and continued eating. The whole eating time was silent. He was eating and the boy in front of him was just reading. But somehow, the silence was actually comfortable enough.
I wonder what's his name.
"Baekhyun" the boy said.
Chanyeol looked at him with a visible confusion.
"Baekhyun. My name's Byun Baekhyun."
"Ah yeah, nice to meet you, Baekhyun. I'm Chanyeol."
"Yes, I know. I just said that because you obviously want to know my name. It's written all over your face." Baekhyun said then smiled.
Am I really that obvious?
"Not really, I just know how to read people's expressions. I'm a psychology student, that's why."
Then, there's the silence again. The comfortable silence.
Just after Chanyeol finished eating, Baekhyun closed his book.
Trying to start a conversation, Chanyeol asked.
"What did you read?"
"It's a romance book about second chances." Baekhyun answered.
"Well, do you believe in second chances?" Chanyeol asked.
"No, I don't. I believe that when the first chance was wasted, there shouldn't be a next one."
"But, why? I think we all deserve second chances. This could be a reason for someone to change for good." Chanyeol argued.
"Well, you have a point but, still I don't." Baek replied.
"But I do believe in the phrase 'second time around'. You know, when people meet in just a blink then after maybe, years they will meet each other again in an unexpected time." Baekhyun added.
"Well, it's true tho."
"I believe that when strangers meet the second time around, they are really fated together. As friends, maybe? Or even lovers."
"So, maybe we'll meet again?" Chanyeol asked.
"Maybe yes, maybe no. Who knows? Do you want to meet me again?" Baekhyun said.
"Yes, I do. Who wouldn't want to, right?"
Their conversation was interrupted by a sound coming through Baekhyun's phone. He received a text message.
"I have to go now. I have some errands to attend to." Baekhyun said to Chanyeol.
Baekhyun then carried his bag and quickly exited the restaurant.
It must be really that urgent.
As Chanyeol was about to stand up, he noticed that Baekhyun's book was left in the table.
He picked the book and started walking towards his sister.
Seems like we'll meet again, will we?
