Daniel could tell there were expensive and he wondered what the so-called Mr Demilade - as his sister had told him his name to be - want to achieve with all this.
He was still confused why the man will go to such lengths just for something that will happen in just one month - in just thirty days.
He was glad that his sister had had half of her dream in a day but he was scared about the billionaire's intention. He was clueless and a bit scared about what the so-called Billionaire wanted to do with his sister. He hoped they can trust him to be true to his words that it was just a pretence deal. Nothing more than that.
He had spent a lot just on the clothes talkless of the shoes and make-up kit with the other materials.
"Sis. Do you trust this man?" He asked his sister that was staring at herself in an old mirror.
She was looking at the way the hair seem perfect on her. She had never had such an expensive hair extensions on her head before. And how her skin seems so different from the treatment given to her. Although she can't deny it was expensive but Demilade had been right. She needed it. She now understands why rich people spend money on skin treatment. It is worth the money and time. It made her feel so different in her skin. And that was the only thing she agreed with Demilade was right.
She was very sure that her friend Ibukun will tell her how much and how wonderful everything was. From the skin treatment to her expensive weavon whenever they see each other. And she was going to rant it over and over again. And sing a song of appraisals to Demilade. She could already tell she will get tired of hearing it and just roll her eyes at her. And that made her smile to herself.
"Sis," Daniel called his sister again.
She turned back to answer her brother.
"I don't know." She replied.
"I'm scared Sis. What if he is planning something evil and he just want to use this to blind you?" He voiced out his thought.
"I don't know. But he looks sincere. And also desperate just like I am. He needs the actress and I need the money. Moreover, daddy knows him. If anything happens, daddy knows where he lives and his workplace" She told him confidently. Although she was also considering the possibility of her brother's words.
"It will be fine. Just think about what we can use the money to do after the end of one month. This is our chance."
He nodded still looking at the bags on the ground.
Some minutes later their father entered the room. His eyes went wide open when he saw the bags and the new shoes on the floor and the bed.
"Where did you get all this Tiwalola?" He asked surprising them.
She stood up from her seat and moved towards her father. She can tell he was already angry and he needed an explanation before he goes berserk.
"Daddy calm down. Mr Demilade bought them for me." She told him calmly.
"What?" He raised his brow. "What for?" There was clear irritation in his voice.
Lola answered him. "He wants me to act like some rich business lady."
"Why can't he let you be the person you are? I don't like all this." He voices his thoughts.
He never liked the idea of the ridiculous 'deal'. He doesn't trust the man that had been his boss in the past years with his daughter. Although he knew he had little involvement with women. He was hardly seen with women that are not business clients or partners. And he also has a clean record. He had been a bachelor before he began to work for him until the present moment but this is his daughter they were talking about. And he doesn't trust any man with her. He still was not convinced of his intentions about the deal.
He is rich and he can get any woman in wants. He was the kind of man that any woman will want to be with. So he doesn't understand why he chooses his daughter.
His only daughter.
He doesn't trust him with her. He just wanted to please her and make her happy. And that was why he accepted the crazy idea in the first place.
"I wanted that too but he is obstinate. He won't change his mind. He said that is the only way his family will believe him." She explained to him. She left out the part where he doesn't like her poor state of being. And that she wasn't looking up to the expectations of the kind of woman he would have loved to date. So he wants her in that kind of way.
A rich, educated business lady with a future.
"But isn't this all too much? I thought he will pay you after the.....deal." He hated to think about it and talk less of saying it out loud.
"He doesn't count it as anything. He wanted it and I have no choice. But the agreement still stands. He pays me after the deal is over." She told him confidently.
They had signed the agreement forms which she had a copy of. And she hoped that counts as a piece of evidence or something.
The elderly man sighed but remained quiet. Lola looked at her brother who had the same look as their father but just had to accept the situation their father did.
She smiled grateful that they care about her safety and understands why she had to do this despite they aren't happy with it. But desperate times call for desperate measures.
