She shrugged. "I learn a few things but it was boring. The women are boring." She explained. She left out the part where the so-called Sholape is irritated at her.

He rolled his eyes and gave her no reply about the comment she just made instead he said. "My mom will be coming next weekend and that is when you are to start. It will look just like a coincidence. Both of you coming on the same day."

This guy had it all planned out.

Nice!

His phone beeped and he looked at it. He called his house help Deborah and the lady Lola had been seeing since she have been coming over came out from somewhere in the house.

"Go and open the door for the woman at the gate." He ordered without looking at her.

And the lady did as she instructed.

Demilade looked at Lola from head to toe and Lola hated it. It made her seem vulnerable when he does that.

"You will need some skin treatment, change of closet and your hair need to be done." He said gesturing with his head.

"Do I really need all that?" She asked irritation clear in her voice. "I'm okay with the way I am."

"Well, I'm not." He snapped.

She looked at him and she could see that he was angry. She realized that he doesn't like people challenging him. She wanted to say something to get him angrier but she held herself back. She wasn't there to challenge him.

"You don't decide. You are to act as a wealthy business lady. I'm sure Sholape thought you how to behave and talk like one." He said, his tone a bit harsh and authoritative.

Reluctantly, she nodded. She was also quite bossy and she hated being ordered around except it was her father. But she remained humble and nodded in reply to his question. The woman told her things and how to act in her proud way by also adding her wealthy family and customers and in the process throwing her poverty to her face.

"Do you think my family will believe all that if you are looking like this?" He asked. He said the words looking at her hair and clothes in a way she can't decipher.

Lola said nothing in reply. She just heaved a sigh quietly and looked away sadly. She hated to be reminded of her poor status. It was never her wish or her fault that she was born that way. She dreamed to become someone better. But she held it all in and remained quiet while Demilade kept reminding her about her poor status.

She didn't blame him. She would blame it on her poverty. She wouldn't have been in the position where he have to rub his riches to her face if she wasn't poor or needed money. Such is life.

"You can do as you please." She snapped without looking at him.

If he hated people like her, he should have found someone like his so-called proud bitch - Sholape. She thought.

She held back the tears that threatened to fall.

He might have noticed how to hurt his words were, so he said quietly. "I'm sorry for snapping at you." She said nothing And she didn't look at him.

Then the door opened and Deborah with an average-looking woman with full makeup walked in. She was dressed nicely and she is beautiful. The woman was older than both of them. And she had the biggest smile on her face when she saw Demilade. And the so-called Demilade stood up to greet and embrace her.

"Oh. Mr Demilade it's so good to see you. How are you doing?" She asked with a broad sincere smile. She looked sincerely happy and honoured to see him.
