"Amahumo! Come and get these clothes!"
"Coming, mother," Amahumo got up from her bed and proceeded down the stairs. Boxes filled the walkway and she could just barely get through. Walking into the small laundry room to pick up the clear basket of clothes, her dark eyes met her mother's. They were filled with sadness, but a tint of excitment. Amahumo no longer found joy in this house, nor this place. Japan was her homeland, and she loved Sakura season, but the people in her school rattled her patience. She walked away with the basket, her short, black hair flowing as she exited the laundry and headed for her room.
Opening the half closed door with one foot, she entered her room and set down the basket. The storm blue walls reflecting the gray light of the sun casting faded rays through the clouds. Rain pounded on the walls and roof. Why can't it stop raining already, it's been like this for the past five days, Hokkaido is most likely going to flood...
Amahumo finished packing the things in her room, looking at the bed with no sheets and the empty desk. I'm really moving...
Taking all of the boxes downstairs and packing them into the moving truck, she caught her mother debating on what appliances to take. "Ma', Sobo-Chan will have things in the kitchen," Amahumo put a hand on her mother's shoulder.
"I know, it's just....I don't think I'll be used to them. What if they're rusted?"
"I'm sure Sobo-Chan uses wooden things."
Her mother sighed and put all the things back. "Are we all set?" Amahumo shook her head, putting on the shoes she left behind and grabbing her wallet. She sat there, thinking for a moment before her mother grabbed her attention
"Don't think about it too much, yasō, we'll still do the things we love."
"I know..," she said softly, holding back tears.
"Let's go, we have no time to waste, chances are waiting for us."
