AN: Hey everyone, this is my first time writing on Wattpad in a long time and I've been on a Voltron kick so have some Klance.

Keith was not happy about his situation, he was not a fan of big groups, and he was certainly not a fan of parties. Too many things could go wrong. Sure the Ola seemed like nice folk, but who was to say that there weren't any spies? Hell, who was to say that any of the aliens they had met weren't spies?

He envied how Lance seemed so comfortable mingling with the golden race. Not phased by the four arms or red eyes. Lance just chatted away as if he was talking to any member of the team. And god, did Lance look good in that suit. Keith had no idea where Allura got the suitsand the ties, especially given that the ties matched the color of the lions. That and they had yet to cross paths with clothing that looked remotely similar to the formal wear of humans.

"Keith, come over here and socialize!" Shiro grabbed Keith's shoulder and waved off an Ola who carried a tray of food, "We really need the Olas to sign on to the coalition, it would be good for them to see all of the paladins socializing."

"Come on Shiro, you know I don't like parties."

Much to Keith's surprise, instead of insisting that he interacted with those at the party, Shiro waded into the sea of gold and red. Keith leaned against the pillar that was next to him and went back to watching the crowd. Somehow, his eyes always found his way back to Lance.

Then Lance met his eyes. A wide grin erupted across Lance's face as he pointed to a drink and mouthed "Try it." Keith let out a soft huff and just shook his head.

Well Lance wasn't going to just let him not try it, now was he? So he began to make his way over to the moody paladin. On his way he swiped another glass from a tray bearing Ola, and managed to grab a few finger sandwiches as well.

Or at least, Keith thought they were finger sandwiches.

"Dude! You need to try this drink! It's like lemonade and Kool aid mixed into one!" Lance seemed a little shaky and Keith briefly wondered how many he'd had.

"I'll take your word for it," Keith said, taking the drink from him anyways, "I think you've had a few too many."

"Nah, I've only had like..." Lance's voice trailed off has he silently counted the drinks, "Okay, maybe I have had one or two too many."

"Only one or two?"

"Shut up, I think I'd know if I'd had too many drinks." Lance ran a hand through his hair and leaned against the column next to Keith, "Besides, it's not even alcoholic– At least I don't think it isn't."

"You drank something not knowing if it was alcoholic or not?" Keith almost dropped the glass he was holding, "Lance! I lived alone in the middle of a desert for most of my life and even I know not to do that!"

"Oh relax Keith, it's not like I'm at a random frat party, I'm at a diplomatic event. It's not like they'd poison us." Lance chuckled, "You worry too much."

"You don't worry enough."

That's when Keith saw it, a fleeting shadow that clung to the sides of the party much like he did. Lance seemed to pick up on his shift in mood and followed his gaze.

"No way, you may actually be right about this for once." Lance hummed as he watched the figure disappear down a hallway. "I'm going to follow them."

"Wait, Lance, no! At least tell Shiro first!" Keith's words fell of deaf ears as Lance slipped away.
