If Martha was right, if the tales she told her were indeed true.....was this place was one of the hidden kingdoms she spoke of?
Impossible.
It couldn't be real....right?
The sun filters through the canopy, kisses the water and warms her skin. It's peaceful here, something about this place calls to her in a way she can't even begin to understand. It's like the piece of herself she was missing for so long is slowly sliding into place, not quite settling but close....so close.
She always felt lost back home, like she didn't truly belong there. It was never enough, she always craved adventure and intrigue, forever with her nose in a book as she allowed her imagination to run free. So either Martha was right and this indeed was one of the hidden kingdoms or Y/N had finally gone crazy. If she wasn't crazy, if this was indeed a real place then everything she thought she knew about her own world would change drastically. If this was a different world to her own then what was Jungkook? Was he human like her or something else entirely?
"The gateways allow those from the different Kingdoms to travel, some have already found their gateways and been able to master them and others like humanity are still to even know of their existence. The oldest Kingdom, belongs to the Elven people and your Prince."
Y/N stills in the water, memories of her conversation with Martha coming back in pieces.
"Enda, your soul. In Elven lore, it's extremely rare but when it does happen it's the start of something truly magical. Certain Elves throughout history have discovered their Enda, they never feel complete until they find each other, something is always missing right here."
"The two souls, always craving adventure and something more but nothing will ever fill that void until they meet and give themselves to the other."
She wades through the water in somewhat of a trance as she tries to remember everything that Martha said to her earlier that day.
"You're telling me that he's my Enda? This guy, is the other half of me?"
"Oh my love he's that and so much more."
"Then why hasn't he found me yet?"
"It'll happen when you're ready, when your heart wants to believe in the fantastical....then and only then will the gateways deem you worthy."
Y/N reaches the bank, overwhelmed as the pieces continue to drop one by one. "I remember darkness." Her voice comes out hoarse.
Jungkook doesn't turn around yet he listens.
"I was at the beach then something pulled me back, it was like stepping through a mist. I remember it was cold and dark, I could hear my heart beating so fast but couldn't see anything. It felt like cobwebs were brushing against my skin, something causing the hairs on my arms to stand on end." She slowly pulls on her clothes, not minding the way they cling to her skin.
"Then there was colour, splashes of silver and sparks of gold that I couldn't see but..." she rests her hand over her chest. "....I could feel."
Jungkook's blood runs cold as he finally turns around to face her.
"I could hear someone talking, I couldn't make out what the person was saying but the louder it got the more....." Her eyes waver as she walks across the grass, hands reaching out to steady herself as she sits down.
"More?" Jungkook presses as he kneels down beside her.
"The more I felt him."
"Him?"
Y/N's eyes fill with tears, she isn't sure if it's from exhaustion at this point or relief that she's finally remembering what happened.
"Taehyung."
Jungkook's eyes widen, hand coming to rest over the hilt of his sword. "What did you just say?"
((Ooooooooo 👀 so what do we think? Y/N is slowly starting to remember some things, what do we think Jungkook will do? Will their journey back to the castle go without incident? In the next chapter Y/N will finally meet the others and then it won't be long until Tae finally meets his Y/N 😫💜 how do we think that will go? I'm so excited for you guys to find out what I have in store for you, I truly hope you enjoyed! Please leave your thoughts and as always love you guys.))
