Chapter Twelve ~ Enda

"Taehyung you must be calm, allow me to explain." Serenity fully expected this visit, after her conversation with Maeralya it was pretty clear Taehyung would have questions.

"She's my Enda, how is that possible?! It's been sixteen years since the last Enda pairing, you told me once that there wouldn't be another for centuries." Taehyung desperately needed answers, why would Serenity be so dishonest? It saddened him to think she would do such a thing, what could she possibly be gaining from the deception? The girl from the saroir was his Enda, they were destined to be together and suddenly it all made sense.

"All this time I've been fascinated by the mortal realm yet it wasn't really humanity which called to me was it? It was her, it's always been her. I've always felt like a piece of me was missing, always longing for adventure but it wasn't adventure that I truly desired. I don't understand Serenity, why would you be dishonest with me?"

"I am truly sorry for the deception  Taehyung, it wasn't done with ill intent." Serenity paused, allowing herself a moment to regain composure.

She couldn't reveal everything to him, not until the time was right.

"I was dishonest with you because the time wasn't right for you to discover your Enda, it still isn't. I've served your family for years Taehyung, my visions have never been wrong so please understand that no matter how much you want to be with her.....no matter how badly you want to claim her as your Enda you must refrain." Serenity could sense his confusion, she needed to make him understand why he needed to wait. "My dear Taehyung please trust me on this, dark times are approaching and if you claim her as your Edna before this darkness is vanquished lives will be lost. I know this doesn't make sense, I wish I could give you more information but I can't. I just ask for you to wait until the time is right, wait until darkness no longer threatens our people."

Taehyung's heart was racing.

What darkness?

"What darkness Serenity? Why am I only hearing of this now? Does my father know about this?"

"He does and he made me promise not to speak of it with anyone else so please keep this information to yourself Taehyung, we can't have our people finding out as it would only cause fear to spread throughout the kingdom. I know I'm asking so much of you, to keep this troubling secret and also to deny your Enda but have faith that I know what I'm doing Taehyung."

Taehyung would do anything for his people, if they truly were in danger then he would do whatever was asked of him in order to bring peace. It wasn't going to be easy, to deny what his heart truly wanted was going to be the hardest thing he could possibly do but sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

"I will do as you ask Serenity but the words you speak better be just and true because if not.....if you have been dishonest with me then you will pay for your actions."

Serenity expected nothing less, she would be disappointed if Taehyung hadn't responded so passionately.

"I promise you that my words are indeed just and true, there will be no need for punishment as I would never betray you Taehyung."

"I must leave to say goodbye to my brother, he departs for the gateway expedition shortly." Taehyung stopped as he reached the doorway. "She was the one who saved my father wasn't she? The one in his expedition report?"

"She was." Serenity responded with a smile.

"I knew it....my Enda." Taehyung smiled, heart swelling with pride.

He would wait however long it takes because she was worth it.

"I couldn't see her clearly, the saroir image was distorted but from what I could see.....she's so beautiful. How is it possible to already be madly in love with someone you haven't even met?"

"It's because she's your Enda, you haven't met physically but she's been a part of you since birth. She's that missing piece, the longing you've always felt. I'm truly happy for you Taehyung but also sorry you can't claim her until my vision comes to pass, hopefully in time you can forgive me for asking this of you."

Taehyung gave a nod.

"There's nothing to forgive so long as you haven't been dishonest, rest well Serenity."

"Rest well Taehyung."

Serenity waited for Taehyung to close the door, once his footsteps reached the room above she sighed heavily. The darkness approaching their Kingdom was gathering strength and as a result her visions were more frequent.

For the first time in her life she was afraid.

What if her visions were wrong?

What if they didn't survive?
