My POV:
After me and Scotty eat breakfast, it's 7:55. The note Benny gave us says we go down a small block, and reach a drug store. "Vincent Drug" and follow a path down the road behind that, to a small bush. Which is The Sandlot.
Scotty - Hey ______...
Me - Yeah?
Scotty - Do you like Benny? I mean.. when you saw him, you looked all happy and stuff.
As were walking down the road to get to Vincent, Scotty asks me if I like Benny. I didn't know what to say. I knew I wasn't pretty enough for Benny no matter how nice I was to him.
Me - No... Because- he looked nice.
Scotty - oh.. yeah, okay :)
We reach the corner behind Vincent Drug, but we didn't even need to get to The Sandlot. Benny and his friends were right out front of the store. One red-head gets up and puts a fake cigar or something in his mouth, and said:
"I'm the gwate bwambinow"
The kids all looked confused
"Huh?!"
He says it again
"I'm the gwate bwambinow!!"
"What?"
He takes the thing out
"I'm The Great Bambino!"
"Ooooohh!"
Scotty looks over and says
Scotty - Who's that?
They all turn around to look who said that. The red-head was like "wHaT" haha. Scotty should know who that is. They all tell him..
"The Sultan Of Swat"
"The Titan Of Terror"
"The Colossus Of Clout"
Benny says out to him
"The King Of Crash, man"
Scotty says "oooh" as if he really knew what they were talking about 😒
Then Benny introduces us to the boys.
Benny - Scott, that's Michael "Squints" Palledorous, Timmy and Tommy Timmons, that's Alan McClennan, we call him "Yeah-Yeah", Bertram Grover Weeks, That's Kenny DeNunez, and that's Hamilton Porter, we call him "Ham"
He completely forgot about me. Oops. 😞
Benny - Guys, this is Scotty Smalls, he's gonna be playing with us because he makes 9, now we have a whole team.
Did he just forget me on purpose or did he honestly forget. Maybe he just doesn't want me to play. I wasted my time here 😠
Benny - Oh, and this is ______ Smalls, they're brother and sister. She'll play with us too.
After they all complained and moaned about us playing, we all went to The Sandlot. Scotty was pretty bad but Benny taught him how to play.
I just sat on the gravel by the dugout, and watched. I was too scared to go play with them because I know they're very judgmental on girls playing baseball.

After that, it reached 6:00.. the street lights turned on which means it's time to go home.
Benny walked all of the boys home and finally me and Scotty.
Benny - Hey sorry, ______. The boys were being very rude, I'm sure you can play tomorrow.
He said my name 😍
Me - tomorrow?
Benny - oh sorry, I didn't know you couldn't come tomorrow.
Me - Oh I can go, I just didn't know you wanted me to :)
Scotty - Will you stop flirting with my sister
Scotty winks at me like he's trying to get Benny to.. like me.
Benny - Hey- uh well uh-
It became really quiet and Scotty is just laughing at Benny for blushing. I have high hopes he likes me but most likely not ☹️
Me - Hey, Scotty that's very rude.
Benny - No it's fine. Happens with this one girl, even though I have a girlfriend 😆
Me - Oh yeah, I understa-
GIRLFRIEND! WHO IS SHE! ILL KILL HER! 😡
Me -
What! Girlfriend!
I'm sorry and I should've told you, but I like you Benny, I really like you and if you never said that I wouldn't like you so damn much but you make it hard because you're so perfect!
Scotty ran home a while ago, so that's why I bursted out. When I started yelling he was confused, like he did something wrong. No it was just me.
Benny - I just met you, you really feel that way?
Me - felt.. 😠😞
I run home and he chases me, but he's too fast. He was beside me half of the way, but he obviously couldn't follow me inside.
I jolted up the stairs crying so my mom wouldn't see. There goes my chance with Benny.
