It had always been told to me that it was a clear night sky when I was born, with many stars shining there best and brightest running across the sky. My father always said to me, "It's their way of the star to shine bright and chase another in celebration when a birth of something as beautiful as you blesses us."
My village was large and impressive for its day. With two hundred people living in harmony together, our land boasting a number of seventy-five huts made of the hunted animal skins and bones the village had collectedly gathered during its settlement. We were located on rock-strewn mountains with cliffsides that faced great expanses of water reaching out beyond what we could see.
I wouldn't know where my birth place was in today's world, the lands had been in a constant state of change that I wouldn't recognise the cliffs that I remembered compared to their eroded version now.
I was born when they did not track time but from what I can say, with the information I know now, it was approximately thirty thousand years ago. When men still hunted animals for food with spears and other man-made weapons of wood, the stone weapons still yet to be made. My village worshipped gods that could control lighting, make the earth shake, and could give voice to the dead. We considered our village blessed by the spirits who ruled above us and sought for their protection.
Generations back when the village was still a small nomadic tribe that would travel across the lands. They were wandering along the cliffsides and witnessed the birth of a goddess. They did not know what they had witnessed at first, thinking it to be the work of the spirits. Only that what rose out of the sea, was so blinding at first that they had to close their eyes and take shelter from the pure light that had shown.
When they had realised that the light had gone the first warrior of the tribe went out to see what could have caused such a great happening.
What he saw was not what he expected.
It was a creature like man, but no man could hold the style of beauty that it had, rising from the sea's foam and gliding her way onto the beach below. The others of the tribe came out to see what the first warrior was standing so stilly at. They too did not expect to see what they saw.
Even so far away, the creature was surrounded by a soft sun coloured light that made it known they were the cause of the great brightness that made the tribes people seek shelter. The beauty's form was constantly changing, no single account of what they looked like would match up perfectly when the villagers recounted it to each other later that night.
Three smaller flashes of light struck into existence around her showing to be three beautiful beings. They did not appear to be human; their skin was not the natural brown tones they were used to seeing on their travels of others but of colours that matched nature of the different seasons. Though the villagers had obviously figured out these beings were not human they did not know what else they could be.
The three beings that looked like the creature, approached the stunning beauty and started to dress them. They dressed the first creature in the whitest dress the villagers had ever seen, it was the colour of the snow they saw fall in the colder seasons. The season coloured creatures then placed a crown of a material the villagers could not identify but was the colour of sun and of the stripes that are seen on the creatures that sting and stay around flowers in the blooming season.
They then placed matching pieces around her neck and on her ears. All making the new spirit look even more radiating. The three others then took the other being's hand and it one great flash, they were gone like they were never there.
What the goddess coming out of the sea didn't know was that she filled the hearts of the tribe with so much love and content for her by the witness of her birth that is was an undisputed discussion that the nomads stayed atop of that mountain, along that cliffside and made a home out of the land for themselves. It was not soon after then that the first mortal women was created by the gods and gifted to the other mortals of the world.
