Under the moonlight, behind the curtains
Laid she there with her eyes closed.
Even the bright moon smiling above
Couldn't fill up the darkness inside.
Tick-tock, and it stopped again~
Time had refused to move on.
With the creak of the floorboard
Knew she 'bout the presence.
The night which was awfully silent,
Made her breathe feel sadder.
Tick-tock, and it stopped again~
Knew she that her time had frozen.
Again, wanted she to sigh again
Feeling that cold breath near her shoulder.
Stroke her the same known feeling
Burdened, she sensed it on her chest
Tick-tock, and it stopped again~
Time had refused to move on.
Those eyes, all black, all sinister
Wondered she when they would stop
Staring at her, she wouldn't even stare back.
Thought she, waiting were they for what;
Tick-tock, and it stopped again~
Knew she that her time had frozen.
Every night. Each night wanting to
Burst open the suffocation underlying her
Nightmares, went she trying to shout,
Only to notice her frozen lips | cold, hard.
Tick-tock, and it stopped again~
Time had refused to move on.
Felt she the bite crystal clear, as if
Her soul being sucked out this time.
Gasped and woke up she short of breath,
Felt the relief knowing it was all over.
Sitting up looked she through the window
Peeking was the moon, smiling behind the curtains.
Taking a sip of water, was she ready to go
Back to her slumber, when she heard it again
Not in her dreams, rather this once in her reality
Heard she the creak of the floorboard.
Tick-tock, and she wanted it to stop this time~
Only to know now that her time had never frozen.
