[Yamaguchi]

I waited for Hinata and Kageyama by the school gates, scuffling my feet in the dirt. Tsukishima had to leave practise early for a doctor's appointment so I had only those two to walk home with. There was a rumble in the ground and I looked up in time to see the power duo running at full speed to reach the gate first.

"Aha! I win! What is it, 132 wins for me now?" Kageyama grinned smugly while Hinata doubled over, panting.

"Nuh-uh! That was your 131st! I'm not letting you reach 132!" Hinata managed between gasps and pants. I stood there, letting out soft chuckles.
"Hey Yamaguchi. Oh, where's Tsukishima?"

"Doctor's." I shrugged, starting to walk alongside the other two.

"Huh. Me and Kageyama are going to Yachi-san's house to study, you usually study with Tsukishima right? Wanna study with us today?" Hinata offered, smiling at me. I stared back for a moment before being unable to stop a smile appearing on my face. Jesus Christ, that ginger's smile was way too contagious.

"Sure! If it's not too much bother."

"Of course it's not! Right Kageyama?"

Kageyama merely gave a grunt of response, walking ahead.
"Do you think Yachi-san has anything to drink? I'm thirsty. Thanks to you racing me I couldn't get anything to drink, dumbass." He grumbled, glaring pointedly at Hinata. In response, Hinata backed up and raised his arms in a karate-like stance.

"Huh?? I didn't race you, Bakayama! You raced me!" He lowered his arms as I chuckled at them. "I wonder what you'd do if you were lactose intolerant."

"Lactose what?"

"Intolerant. I don't know what it means, Tsukishima mentioned it once so it can't be anything good." Hinata shrugged, arms behind his head. He and Kageyama had started walking ahead, so I had to hurry and catch up with them.

We walked to Yachi's house, talking about a few things. Well, I was telling a story about a time training with Shimada and Hinata and Kageyama would argue, but it was nice. I couldn't help but feel like I was third-wheeling though.. probably because Tsukishima wasn't there.

"Yachi-san!" Hinata called over and over again into the little box thing on the apartment building while I stood aside, glancing at Kageyama. He and Hinata had a lot in common, I'd come to notice, and though they tried to hide it they couldn't help it.

Obviously, they both loved volleyball. A lot. They were both extremely competitive, intense and had amazing skill. When they set their minds to it the two were unstoppable, anyone would envy a friendship like theirs. They were a perfect mix and only brought out the best in eachother. I could only dream of being that kind of friend to Tsukishima.

Tsukishima! There I was thinking about him again! I couldn't help but link everything I see back to him. He was on my mind all the time and ugh.. I needed help.

"Yamaguchi." Kageyama nudged me, breaking me out of my trance as he followed after Hinata inside the big, expensive-looking building. I quickly hurried after them, worried that I might get lost otherwise.

"Yachi-san lives with her mother right? She won't get mad that we're all here will she?" I asked Hinata after catching up to him. The ginger laughed and shook his head.

"Don't worry about it Stressyguchi, Yachi-san's mom likes us. Well, she likes me. I don't think she likes Kageyama all that much, but really, who does?"

"What are you trying to say, dumbass?"

"Oh you wanna pick a fight huh?"

I rolled my eyes, falling behind a little as the two somehow managed to throw punches at eachother while perfectly leading the way to Yachi's apartment.

Stressyguchi huh? Well I'd never had a nickname before. Other than the stupid names I was called when I was a kid and Tsukishima came to save me... not again! I ran my fingers through my hair, watching as Hinata calmed down and knocked on Yachi's door.

We heard a thump, followed by a crash, followed by an unmistakable squeal and then-

"Yachi-san!" Hinata and Kageyama both greeted in sync, Hinata much louder and more energetic while Kageyama's seemed a lot more dull and monotone. It was funny to see Yachi's puzzled reaction.

"See, Kageyama. Told you her face would be funny."

"Dumbass." Kageyama rolled his eyes, leading the way in as Yachi greeted them and stepped aside. She then noticed me and smiled brightly.

"Yamaguchi-kun! You coming to study with us? Where's Tsukishima-san?" Yachi asked, looking around.

"Ah.. doctor's. Oh- Yachi-san, you weren't at practise today?" I asked, hurrying into her apartment as I realised I hadn't seen her.

"Yeah sorry, I told Coach Ukai I couldn't make it today. My mother wanted me to study a little longer because I've been spending so much time on volleyball." Yachi laughed awkwardly, rubbing her neck as she closed the door behind me. "I mean don't get me wrong, she supports it and all, but she also tells me I gotta study if I wanna succeed."

"Oh.. I'm sorry to intrude-"

"No no no! It's fine! I like helping Hinata and Kageyama study, one more person is no big deal. Plus, you can see how funny it is watching them try to work together on a question." Yachi smiled, leading the way to the room Hinata and Kageyama had walked into.
"Honestly, if it isn't volleyball then the two can't work together for anything!"

"Volleyball? Did you say volleyball?" Hinata perked up.

"Not talking to you dumbass!" Kageyama grabbed the top of Hinata's messy ginger hair to yell at him, Hinata only yelled back. Soon then were dodging and punching over the table and Yachi looked a little stumped.

"Ah... Hinata, Kageyama, you're here to study not fight." I waved my arms to get their attention, scratching my chin as I smiled at them.
They calmed down and relaxed again, making Yachi relax in turn. We sat down and got out our books as Yachi started to tutor us.

Yachi was an incredible tutor. Well, you'd have to naturally be to deal with Hinata and Kageyama, but she was the type of person to instantly know how someone learnt best. She had her way of teaching the two idiots who kept arguing over the smallest of things, then as soon as she turned to me it was like a kinder girl Tsukishima was teaching me.

Tsukishima was good at fitting to people's learning styles too...

Fuck.
