Jennifer's point of view:

I loved the smell of flowers.

It was intoxicating.

It brought me back to the summers I would spend with my mom and dad. Searching for which flowers to bring home next was one of my favorite hobbies. I was in the tiny flower shop I always go to. This has been my favorite place since I moved here. Nobody really comes to this shop except for the sweet old ladies that live around the neighborhood. I was making my way to checkout when I felt someone bump into me and dropped everything out of my purse.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. God, that's so embarrassing. I'm so clumsy, geez." I looked up and noticed a girl. She was blushing from embarrassment.

Her voice was soft just like her features. She had caramel brown hair and green eyes. She had lips that looked soft and pink that resembled peonies. Her delicate appearance went perfectly with her dress. She was covered by white flowy fabric with small flowers printed all over it.

"Here let me help you." She said. She got on the floor and started picking up my things and putting them in my purse.

"I didn't peg you as the romance novel type of girl" She commented. I looked down at her hands where she held my copy of Pride and Prejudice.

"Oh really? And what did you peg me as?" I teased.

Normally I would try to avoid talking to strangers as much as I can especially ones as pretty as her so as not to embarrass myself but I felt comfortable around her. It was a strange feeling of comfort and familiarity that I wouldn't expect to have felt with someone I didn't even know.

"I don't know, I guess you strike me as more of a fantasy or adventure person." She replied with a small smile and giggle.

The sound of her laugh was like none I've ever heard before. It was riddled with optimism and positivity. It was the type of laugh you could listen to for days and not get tired of.

"I think that's everything." She said handing me my purse with a smile on her face. Her voice pulled me back from my thoughts.

"Thank you for helping me get everything back in here." I said.

"It's no problem, I should be thanking you for being so forgiving. I should really watch where I'm going from now on shouldn't I?" She says with a small chuckle.

"Well I should really be going now, I hope I didn't spoil too much of your day." And with that she walked out of the shop with a smile.

I took my purse and placed it back on my shoulder trying to remember what I was going to do before I got distracted.

All I could think of was the way her aura brightened up everything around her. I found myself at checkout with peonies in one hand and my wallet in the other.

On the walk home, I found my mind had been completely taken over by this complete stranger. Replaying the small encounter over and over in my head, I realized I never even got her name.

Making my way up the stairs to my floor, I grabbed my keys from my purse. I reached my door and turned the key, entering my apartment. It was fairly large for one person. I always felt at home in here, being surrounded by plants and flowers.

When I got to my room, I found my cat, Olive, sprawled across the foot of my bed, laying directly where the sunlight hit.

As soon as he noticed I was home, he made his way over and sat in front of me so I could pick him up.
