Chapter 1

Third POV

"So observations indicate the visible brightness of a nova is driven by gamma ray emissions from shockwaves in the post-explosion environt-" Arthit stops suddenly while he hears a knock on the door of the class he taught.

Knock knock knock

A student tucked his head between the door and frame as the door half open. He was late for his Astronomy class. The clock showed 9.26 am while the class started at 8 am and end at 10 am.

"Excuse me sir, sorry im late. Can i come in?" The late student asked while the teacher sighing with arms akimbo.

"Late again, Kongpob?" The teacher asked like he was tired of it. Its the third time in this week that student was late for his class. And yet he still has guts to enter the class even tho he know hes not allowed.

"I..uh.. sorry, i had someth.."
"Explain that in my office after this class, now get out!" Arthit casted out him and continued the class.

"Where we were again?"

The bells ringing as the first session ends. Everyone prepared their stuff and get out of the class. Some of them goes to another class they have at second session but some have class at third or fourth session.

Today is Friday. Arthit only has one class today in the morning to teach the third year student and he has no class after that, but he has so many paper to do.
As he walk to his office, he saw Kongpob lean on the wall outside his office while typing something on his phone. He didnt notice the older present.

Arthit then opened the door regardless the younger and the younger startled a little. He smiling to Arthit as if he was doesnt have any mistake. The older gives a cold shoulder and the younger follow him in.

"Do you know why i asked you to come to my office?" Arthit frown a little and asked.

"Because im late?"

"You've been late thrice in this week, Kongpob! And its all at my class session. Are you disrespected me?" Arthit sounds mad but also dissapointed.

"Ofcourse not"

"Then what it is? It is because you think you are smart enough in Astronomy and no need another lessons?"

Kongpob was indeed a smart student who's got scholarship and transferred three months ago. He wins several Astronomy olympiads both national and international and thats why he got transferred from his previous campus to Kastrat University. This campus well known for several subjects like engineering and astronomy. Arthit is one of the best lecturer this campus. Eventhough he was only in his late 20s, but he soon will pursued professor title.

"You know i cant answer that" Arthit eyes widened as he heard the younger answer. He couldnt believe he should deal with this stubborn student in his perfect career.

"So how the fuck i supposed to do with you, Kongpob?" Arthit is completely mad.

"Nothing, i could take my own risk. I still got perfect score for the last quiz eventhough i absent for days. You remember?"

Arthit know Kongpob was right. And he simply hate it. He pulling his hair in frustration.

"Listen, Kongpob. Im the one who responsible for your education here since im the one who chooses you to get that scholarship." Arthit talk seriously while point out index finger to Kongpob.

"Dont you ever think your friend would sue you or us if you keep acting like this? Your absents, late, careless, you think you worth the scholarship?"

"I dont have friends, worries not." He answer nonchalantly. He then put his hand on the top of Arthit's hand.

"But Khun Arthit, could you please not talking with that serious face?"

"Whats your problem?" Arthit glare at him pulling back his hand from the younger. He lean his back on his chair as the younger move closer.

"Do that again and i might fall for you. Maybe." The younger smiling to the ears.

"Kongpob!" He shouts, but little did he know the tip of his ears turning red.

"I kept that for a long time and couldnt stand it because you are too cute, Khun Arthit" he grinning and left the older dumbfounded.

"Im not here for fooling around, Kongpob. I warn you for the last time, please no absents and dont late again. Ask the assignment to other student. you can leave, i have many paper to do." Arthit bussied himself with papers on his desk without looking to the younger.

"You free this weekend?" Kongpob asked out of the blue as he walk to the exit door.

"Im not" Arthit answer shortly still bussy with his paper.

"I will call you then" Kongpob smile hurriedly go out and closed the door before Arthit could even answer.

What the hell was that? Arthit talk to himself and minutes later his phone pings with one message notification.

From: unknown number
Be sure you are saving my number, Khun Arthit! 😉 I'll call u 2mrrow. -Kongpob

'Damn, where did he get my number?' He cursed beneath his breath but he is saving the number anyway.

To: Astronomy smartass
You ruin my weekdays and now u r planning to disturb my weekend? Fuck off.

He hit sent and put his phone on the table and continued his paper. He check his phone for every 2 minutes but the younger didnt reply yet.

'Shit, am I too harsh on him?' He suddenly regrets the last text he sent.
