Our school is doing a spirit week and today is autism awareness day and we are instructed to wear blue. No, I'm not trying to say I don't support autism or anything. I am working to represent the #redinstead movement. I have done a little of my own resources so I am not making any claim someone is right or wrong. I, however, think that there is a valid point in #redinstead and would like to help bring awareness to other parts of the community and their goals and efforts. Even if they don't agree with one another all the time, They both only seem to want what is right for everyone. #redinstead's goal is working at removing discrimination and help adults in the community. Help promote acceptance and independence. ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Network) is a great place for this type of goal with their phrase "Nothing about us, without us!" I know opinions and conditions are different, and I know I have no idea what it's like. But I know what is freedom and human rights. Things don't always have to conflict. That's why I'm wearing red instead.
