"I'm telling him today" I smiled in excitement with Micheal as I told him my plan. Ashton and I have been best friends all our lives. When we were 10 we promised to tell each other everything and so we did. Even the dumb things that didn't matter but we always shared everything. Except recently now that we're on our freshman year I realized I've had feelings for Ashton. It's the only thing I ever kept from him and I feel like it's been driving a wedge in our friendship so tonight I'm telling him.
"It's about time!" Michael had been begging me to tell Ashton how I felt before it was too late. I knew he has a small crush on this girl named Jessica but I was sure once I told him about my feelings he wouldn't care about her anymore.
"What if he doesn't like me back?"
"Malia, trust me he loves you." He must've seen the doubt in my eyes because he quickly added "Don't even worry about Jessica that's just a little crush I know he'd choose you over her without a second thought."
-Later that day-
"ASHHYYY!" I jumped into my best friends arms and giggled while he spun me around like always.
"MALI! Guess what!"
"What?"
"I asked Jessica out-"
"What?" I knew what he said but it was as if my mind hadn't processed it. Just an hour ago I was so sure I had nothing to worry about.
"I asked Jessica out and I don't even know how it happened it was so fast we were just talking and bam! We're going out tomorrow"
1 months later that year...
It's been a month since Ashton and I stopped being friends. After I found out he asked Jessica out I was stupid and reacted on jealous getting into a fight with him and basically cutting him off with no good explanation.
He tried to reach out to me but I saw how happy he looked with Jessica and I didn't wanna ruin it so I ignored him. Luke tells me he's moving back to Australia in 2 weeks. At least that chapter of my life can be over.
I guess it's official goodbye Ashton.
