Damon's POV
After Price showed up at the restaurant and started eyeing Rachel I couldn't let her stay home alone, luckily she obliged and let me bring her to my house. There's probably so much going through her head right now and I am going to have to explain to her everything.
I've been so terrified to tell her, I'm just now getting her to open up to the idea of us and if I tell her now she might not want anything to do with me. Normally that wouldn't matter much to me but she has me wrapped around her finger, I've tried and I just can't be without her
I left her in the bedroom and made my way to the office knowing that everyone would be waiting for me. I opened the door and they were all talking amongst themselves
"Alright everyone" I cleared my throat and made my way to my desk "Price is back in town, we all know that he is going to try to catch us off guard and we need to be prepared"
Being in this business has been a handful, but at this point I don't know if I can step out of it.
"Whats the plan boss?"
"I need all of you guys here, and alert at all times." I unbuttoned my shirt a bit feeling warm in this small room with about 10 men in it "today he made a hint that he was going to go after Rachel and that cannot happen"
I hadn't introduced any of my men to Rachel, but they sure as hell have heard of her.
"Did you hear me!?" I need to know that these men know I'm more serious than ever
"yes sir" they spoke in unison
"good" I sighed in relief "I'm going to try to have her stay with me until I know she'll be safe" I couldn't live with myself if she got hurt
"we will get together tomorrow night to talk about specific plans, you guys can go. But stay alert!" The main reason I have a house this big is for when the men need to say here
"Damon, what's going on with this girl?" Tony came up to me at my desk, knowing that my mind is all over the place right now
"what do you mean?" I ran my fingers through my hair, I haven't been this stressed in a while
"Damon, you're crazy about her" he sat in the chair in front of me
"I know Tony, I really am" I haven't admitted it out loud
"I haven't seen you like this since you were younger, with Tessa" I knew he was going to bring that up "it's good to see you happy brother"
Tony and I grew up together, we got into this business straight out of high school..he's the only one who knows the real me. He's been with me through the toughest moments of my life and I his. He really is a brother to me
"Thank you Tony" he walked out of the room, making me reminisce on the memories we created.
He didn't have to bring Tessa up though..I know at some point I'm going to have to bring that up to Rachel, but I need to take it one crappy news at a time. I finally decided to make my way back to the bedroom and have the first difficult talk with Rachel
I pushed the door open to find her laying in my bed in a sexy red outfit, a tank top and shorts never looked so good. She had her feet flat on the bed and her knees up near her chest, there's no damn way she doesn't know how sexy she is. I couldn't help but bite my lip to keep myself from saying too much
"fuck.."
