- It's been a long day without you my friend and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again -

I turned my key in the lock and opened the door. This is it, my new home. I was immensly happy to have finally arrived. I sighed as the feeling of relieve came over me and let myself sink on the floor leaning against the inside of the now closed door.

As you should propably know I just moved to London. Since I was 15, where I visited London for the first time, it was my dream to live and work here. Now - I'm 25 by the way - I finally made it, all by myself and I'm really grateful for that.

After a while of just enjoying my new but empty home, I got up and started to go through every single room, which is mine now. My new flat has of course a kitchen and a bathroom, but there are two rooms left besides them, the living room and my bedroom. I was more than happy about this because one of those rooms will be for music and arts and the other one will be there for guests. Basically it will be used, when my family will visit me. My Family - that's one thing I will miss about Germany, where I originally come from. When I told my mum about my plans she was totally upset and worried about me. She actually forbid me to leave and tried everything to convince me to stay. For example one time she said "Daphne honey, you can't just leave your old mother alone when she needs you the most.", but let me tell you she is not old and she doesn't need my help. In fact she tried to make me feel guilty about leaving and I will sure miss her but there's still my stepdad to take care of her and the two brothers of mine, who will visit her for sundays tea.

During the tour it turned out that my bathroom and the kitchen are quite big, and my flat also owns a little balcony. It was a beautiful little place I rented over the internet - not the safest way I know.

In the last room of my flat, which I reached during my tour around here, was a mirror of the previous tenant still hanging on the wall. I stood right in front of it and looked at me. Ugh, I hated my reflection. I stared into my green eyes, at my snub nose and at my mousey blond, shoulder-length hair, which was a total mess after my trip. I wasn't that kind of a girl, who got called pretty but I also wasn't called ugly. Most of the time I tried to be invisible to people, so I couldn't bother someone and they couldn't bother me. It was easier for me to do things alone, so I could do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted to do it. It's always been this way and I never had the intention to change this, but now I have to. I came here without any social connections, except for the one with my landlord and my new boss and I can't wait to get to know my new co-workers. Okay that was sarcasm, I don't like meeting new people... I have no choice, I needed a job and now I got one. It's actually my dream job, but I'm still scared of how it's gonna be to work there. I just finished my studies at a university in Germany and now I'm in a foreign country to start my first job as an eventmanager. But let's stay positive - a thought I never ever thought I would use because I'm more the realistic or even pessimistic type of a woman - I still have one week left to unpack my stuff and buy some furniture. And that's necessary, as the only furniture I have right now is a bed and the mirror, whilst my other belongings will be delivered tomorrow.

Come on Daphne! I told myself, while leaving the flat, let's go get some shopping done.

Hey to whoever reads this,

I hope you liked what I wrote. I know it's a bit short but it's my first ever story I have written by myself and I'm not quite sure if that's good or not or if it's even worth a read. I would be very happy, if you leave some feedback good and bad please :) Oh and I'm from germany so if my grammar is wrong or if there are typos and wrong used words just tell me please I'm happy about the opportunity to improve my english.

Thank you very much x
