It was noon and I was in my room playing my favorite video game Halo when my parents walked in."Hey Scott, can we come in", they said as they walked through the door. "We have good news for you and we're sure you're gonna love it." I paused the game, took off my headphones and turned around to hear what they had to say, and at that moment all the pieces of my life started rearranging.

I wasn't that everyday normal kid living a normal life, in a normal neighborhood, absolutely not, I was the rich kid whose parents over protected cause of the mistakes of his older brother. Not really mistakes though but my older brother, Damian,a soldier and sworn loyalist and member of the Tifranian government, a secret black ops organization created to investigate crimes within the government, died in a mission to save the President, Percy McKnight, who had previously been kidnapped by insurgents. His death in place of the President made my parents feel like I might end up like him if I stayed in Tifran, at least that was what I thought. I was just 12 when he died and it actually felt like my life fell apart then because he was the only one I could perfectly relate to and to me, the only person in this world who understood me. I lost the only person that made my life feel okay but others thought it wasn't bad because his death saving the president made us super rich. My parents were also given an island as part of the gratitude from the Tifranian government and they decided to leave me there for some time, till it was "ok" for me to live with people again.

So on that day, a day before my 18th birthday, my parents stood before me with half baked smiles and part teary eyes saying the words, "I think it's time for you to come to the normal world." I didn't know whether they were tears of joy or real tears but if they were ready to let me leave, I bet it wasn't just because it was my birthday.
