Mehndi: wedding function where groom's mother brings henna - to be applied on the bride.
halla gulla: chaos, fun, noise etc - basically having a fun time
dholak: a small gathering/party where a dholak (small drum) is played by women
dulha: groom
salaam: greeting in Islam, short form of Assalamualaikum, lit. may peace be upon you.
musibat: problem
khair: oh well/well (depending on context)
hungama: commotion
bidaai: farewell
zid: stubbornness/obstinacy
chukandar: beetroot
na mehram: not a mehram (mehram is an islamic term meaning those that are close to you. For a girl, husband, brother, father, uncle etc, along with all women. For a man vice versa.)
