Chapter 29: Apologies

Y/n POV:
Jackson places his hand on the doorknob and starts to open the door but I can tell he's hesitant.

Y/n: You can do it Jackson
Jackson: Are you sure about this? What if they-
Y/n: Don't look for the negatives
Jackson: Okay

He opens the door and looks at everyone standing there. They gasp at the sight of him and quickly stand their guard. I quickly turn around the corner and they see me.

Payton: Are you okay?!

Payton pulls me out of the room and caresses my cheek lightly and it already feels way better than when Jackson did it a few minutes ago. He looks deep into my eyes and I can see the tears and worry. He moves his gaze to my lips and back to my eyes. Then he crashes his lips into mine and I can tell how much he was worried about me. I feel one of his arms wrap around my waist pulling me closer and he keeps the other hand on my cheek. He pulls away and I cup his face in my hands and smile at him. He grabs my hands and starts looking over my wrists. He pulls me into a hug and rubs my back.

Payton: Did he hurt you?
Y/n: No Payton I'm fine
Jackson: If anything she hurt me
Y/n: Don't be such a baby Jax *giggles*
Payton: Jax?

He pulls away from me and looks in my eyes confused.

Payton: What do you mean by that?
Y/n: Payton he never meant to hurt me
Payton: He nearly killed you
Y/n: That was all Anthony. Yes Jackson has some rage and jealousy but he never wanted to hurt me.
Payton: And you forgive him that easily?
Y/n: Just hear him out okay?
Payton: Fine
Y/n: Jackson.
Jackson: Thank you Y/n. What I have done was out of pure rage and jealousy and I know that's not an excuse but all I wanted was Y/n, she was all I could ever think about and I didn't realize that Payton was in love with her way longer. Since he didn't start making moves until he knew I was in love with her I just assumed he was trying to keep her away from me. I was so angry and all I wanted was to be with the one I love more than anything. When she fell for Payton I was heartbroken because I had done so much to get her to like me but she fell for him but I didn't realize that she had been in love with him too. I couldn't take it anymore so I started talking to Anthony and little did I know he wanted revenge on Y/n for taking so much of Josh's attention. He hated and still hates her. That's why he was the one that nearly killed her. He would tell me that he would be the one to take Y/n her food and I eventually gave in but I didn't realize he would beat her the way he did. I am truly sorry that I didn't realize he was beating her. I don't expect you to forgive me but I hope that we can just put this all past us.
Payton: Or how about we forgive and not forget
Jackson: I'll take it
Y/n: Guys?
Ev: We forgive you
Jackson: Thank you guys it means the world to me
Josh: Thank you for apologizing, but there's one small problem...
Y/n: Josh what did you do?
OD: Great work kids
OC: Harassment, kidnapping, attempted murder, breaking and entering and not to mention breaking out of-
Jackson: Yeah I know
OD: You're going away for a while Jackson.

Jackson looks down at the floor as the officers place handcuffs around his wrists. They walk him to the door and I can see the tears in his eyes. He looks back and makes eyes contact with me.

Y/n: Wait
OD: Is there a problem Miss Hartman?
Y/n: Let him free
OD: I beg your pardon?
Y/n: You have the one that did it all. Anthony Reeves
OC: Are you sure miss-
Y/n: Please just let him go
OD: You don't wish to press charges?
Y/n: No. I understand his motive and I know that he never wished to hurt me
OC: If that's what you want
OD: But he didn't go by the restraining order
Y/n: Cancel it. He doesn't deserve this
OD: As you wish
OC: Is there anything else we can do for you
Josh: That'll be all
OD: Remember to call us if you need us
Josh: We will thank you

They leave and Jackson stands awkwardly in the doorway. I look at him and open my arms with a smile. He runs over and gives me a big hug and I can tell we have the caring Jackson back.

Jackson: Thank you so much Y/n
Y/n: It's no problem Jax
Jackson: I'm sorry for all of the pain I cause you all
Zach: Don't worry about it. Just back off our sister, she's taken
Jackson: Right *chuckles*

He backs away and looks around.

Payton: So now what?
Josh: Y/n.
Y/n: Right we still have to leave
Jackson: Wait what?!
Josh: Our parents heard about what happened on the news and wanted us home immediately
Jackson: I am so sorry guys. I didn't know
Y/n: It's okay Jax but I do have to leave. I love you all of you guys so much
Ev: We love you
Josh: We'll be back next year
Payton: Y/n.....
Y/n: Yes Payt?

I turned to look at him and he pulled me close and kissed me. I could tell he was on the verge of tears. I wrapped my arms around him and I felt someone's hand on his shoulder but I didn't care I continued the kiss begging to stay. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and I knew it was Josh.

Josh: We gotta go sis
Zach: We're gonna miss you

I pulled away from Payton and pulled him into a group hug. I grab Zach and pulled him in too and eventually everyone was in. As everyone pulled away I held on tight to Payton. I could feel him fighting tears and I was doing the same. Payton kisses the top of my head and then rests his head on mine.

Payton: I'm gonna miss you babygirl
Y/n: I'll miss you more
Payton: I doubt that
Y/n: Josh can Payton come to the airport with us?
Josh: I wish he could but Aiden is only expecting us and if we bring someone else he won't be allowed to take us home
Payton: Sorry Baby
Y/n: It's okay Payt
Payton: Text me when you get home okay
Y/n: I will I promise

I pull away from Payton and grab his hand. He walks me to the door and opens it. He hands me my suitcase and I grab it with my other hand. I start to walk out but refuse to let go of Payton. I let go of my suitcase as I feel Payton pulling me back to him and he gives me one last kiss. He pulls away and looks deep into my eyes. His are now filled with tears streaming down his face. I allow a tear to fall and I turn back to the door and see Josh waiting for me. He holds a hand out and places it on my back leading me out.

Payton: I love you Y/n
Y/n: I love you too Payt

And with that I get into the car and Josh finishes putting our suitcases away and he gets in. He looks at me and I can tell he's been crying too.

Josh: We'll be back as soon as possible okay
Y/n: Okay
Josh: I'll see what I can do about the online schooling for you and maybe we can come back early
Y/n: Thank you Josh
Josh: It's no problem
