💙Overboss Colter X SSR- PART 2🥳

"Sometimes Colter- You have to lose caps, to become truly happy-" You began "Ew, shut up." He barked, not wanting to listen to your shenanigans "Yeah, shut up. Waffling on about shit. I mean- who in their right mind would think losing caps would make them happy?-" Gage said, scoffing causing Colter to join in, yet you just stood there rolling your eyes "Well, until you've been in that situation, you won't understand." You said, rolling your aching shoulders before looking down at the terminal "-That's a lot of caps overboss." You said, throwing a slightly unnerved look at Colter who was sitting in a chair, practically shrugging, with a huge grin on his face "Think about all the shit we could buy with that-" he said, glancing back at the terminal with a beaming smile, causing Gage to smirk "Yeah, and think about all the attention it's bringing with it." You mumbled, nervously "Ah shut up you sissy. Them caps- They buy us protection." Gage said, "But will you spend 'em on that?" You asked, glancing between the two, one looked...Emotionless. And the other looked amused "Look (Y/N), we don't need protection. We've got the gauntlet..Then you have me, nothing will happen..Ever." He said, and with a sigh, you simply pushed it aside, but even as they went back to talking about how to earn more caps, you couldn't stop the sickly feeling in your stomach.

Three Days Later

"You did what?!" You cried in horror "Took over Sanctuary hills...Enslaved 'em. You know how it is." Colter said, sauntering Past you and into his room, atop fizz top mountain "I asked you to leave them be." You said, narrowing your eyes at him "Hmm, that was before we had the caps to bribe 'em into handing over their crops." He admitted, practically collapsing onto his bed, and you couldn't help but feel the rage boiling over, especially when you saw the abandoned suit of armour, damaged and left behind, waiting for repair. But it seemed like Colter had given up on it....He seriously thought himself superior...immortal even. But as you glanced between Colter and the power armour, you couldn't help but think of everyone he's stepped on to get this far, and how it didn't bother him in the slightest. To be honest, it disgusted you. Because when you live in a place, where countless people are struggling to survive. You didn't need people like Colter coming along, and either beating you into submission, or bribing you into handing over the very few crops you had, over.

And as you stared at him, you couldn't help but feel disappointment, not only in him, but in yourself for letting it get this far, which is probably why you seemed more passionate about it than anybody else....Because you knew, that there was a chance you could've stopped this from happening...Y'know, easing him off the peddles. But you was so caught up in your love affair with him...It rocked your world completely. And only now, did it sink in, that this Cap addiction, and his power crazy ways was becoming a huge problem, not only for Colter himself, but for the raiders too.

Which is why you opened your mouth, and decided to say what you thought, because right now? You wasn't thinking about just you and Colter anymore, this was about everyone.

So you told him straight.

"Being rich doesn't mean you can treat people like dirt- and it sure as hell doesn't mean that you are safe and sound- We've got huge targets on our backs right now Colt." You barked, but Colter simply shrugged it off, something that had become increasingly popular for him now "You lie there, with a smile on your face, knowing that you've just destroyed an entire settlement and probably- Our futu-" Before you could finish, he cut you off.

"I didn't destroy it, I'm simply...Trading, caps in return for food." He said "Yeah, caps that you've stolen from them in the first place!" And it was true, they went out raiding settlements in the commonwealth, taking everything away from them, before selling it back. "So?- It's business luv." He said "don't you 'Luv' me!- You promised me- Promised! that you would leave the sanctuary alone." You barked out "I didn't hurt them did I?" He asked, glaring up at you from his bed "But you've took their food, Colt. What are they gonna eat?" You asked. Raising an eyebrow at him "Not my problem." He said, causing you to growl "You know what?- You stay here- Have yourself a nice little drink, relax and bask in your new found glory, whilst I go and sort this out." You hissed, storming out of the room. Because no matter how much you loved Colter...You couldn't have him treating your pre-war home like that, especially not with the new residents. You had helped them move there, built it up from the dreadful mess that was left after the bombs had fell. just for 'em and now Colter, the man you loved. Was practically ripping down your work and eating it.

But as you stormed into the elevator, you couldn't help but think to yourself.....Surely this can't be about providing food for the raiders anymore? Because Practically every settlement had been taken over. Each handing over their food like good ol' dogs. And to say the raiders had enough food would've been an understatement....So why on earth would he need more?...Well, it was simple really, all he ever wanted was power. And he knew, Caps got you that

And now that he was at the top, he got comfy, totally going against everything you say. Not listening to warnings, even abandoning the one thing that made him...Him.

His power armour.

Why would he give up the one thing that protected him from harm?

Because he was content, he had countless settlements feeding his people, he had money coming in like no ones business, and he had power. He didn't need anything else.

But as you pressed the button on the elevator's panel, you couldn't help but think 'One day...His greed will come back to haunt him, that's for sure.'

And it was true......Because one day, it did.

2 WEEKS AFTER THE SANCTUARY TAKEOVER

"You know as well as I Gage, That he's risking our lives." You said, nervously glancing towards Colter who was lying on his bed as usual, drink in hand, listening to Red eye over the radio "Maybe so, but he's done more for us, than anyone else could." Gage said, glancing at the Overboss with a strange look "You say that Gage- But you lot have never gave anyone the chance." You said, eyes filled with passion, causing Gage to tilt his head as he looked at you "You aren't thinking about over throwing him are you?" He asked, causing you to shake your head furiously "No- No...Even though it would be the sensible thing to do, because let's face it, he's causing more harm than it's worth." You said "You say that, but I haven't seen one bad thing happen to us within weeks." He obviously didn't believe you "Well- Let's hope our luck doesn't run out." You said, standing up straighter with a look of exhaustion on you face "you should sleep boss, Don't want to over work yourself." He said, grinning. "I'm not going to sleep with him in there." You said, nodding towards Colter, but your eyes caught Gages reaction, which was one of confusion "You know...(Y/N), I never got to ask...What actually happened between you two?- Because I sure as hell, don't remember you two being this distant." He said, "In fact- I remember when we all went Kiddie Kingdom, together, you both were having the time of your lives....What on earth happened?" He asked, causing you to sigh softly, remembering that day like it was yesterday "He changed, it was like- I wasn't enough for him anymore- he just wanted Caps, power...Fame, anything but me." You admitted, causing Gage to stare at you sadly "You know..for what it's worth (Y/N), I think you have a chance at bringing him back." He said. Causing you to blink in confusion for a minute "Wait-What? Bring him back? Whatcha mean?" You asked "Well...he obviously weren't like this a few months ago. You've gotta try and convince him, that there's something more to life than caps." He said "Gage, Never did I think, I'd see the day when you are giving me advice, on how to stop someone caring about caps." You teased, despite the strange nervous feeling once again in your stomach "I didn't say stop caring-" he interrupted, like he was offended, which made your smile widen, but just as you opened your mouth to say something. A familiar alarm pierced the silence ...One that made your entire body go cold. Because you knew

.........Someone was here to challenge the Overboss.
