Shattered

Chapter 9

"Chris?" I said giving him a very odd look. Cadence swept into my room 

"Glad to see you are alive darling. Now please don't do that again. You are to precious to me to die my love." He said sweetly looking me over.

I just stared at him quietly.

Chris grabbed my hand. I looked him over..and for some reason did not move my hand away. I saw Cadence look at mine and Chris's hand enterwined and I noticed a look of hurt wash over his face but it disappeared as quickly as it came.

"Destin. Darlin. why would you hurt yourself like that? " Chris questioned.

" I was just overwhelmed. It won't happen again." I said under my breath. "

My darling that's were you are right. Because you are coming back with me to the homeland. It's time you meet my family and such." cadence stated as if it was no big deal.

I looked at him and snickered 

"I don't even know you. There is no way i'm going anywhere with you." 

I felt a very weird change in the atmosphere when all of the sudden cadence was over me straddling me.

He had his hands around my neck. I could feel him squeezing tighter and tighter. My breath becoming shorter and shorter. I struggled and put up as much of a fight as i could but it was useless.

I looked over  at chris a single tear rolling down my cheek and saw Chris jump up and reach for Cadence.

"You will come with me. You are MINE!"Cadence snarled.

Chris grabbed Cadence by his collar and held him against the wall.

"Leave now!" Chris said growling. and with a popping sound Cadence vanished.

I gasped for my breath and holding my throat.

"Water." I croaked to Chris. He handed me a bottle of water and watched as I guzzled it down.

I looked at him and said "Truth I want it now. "

I listened to him ramble on as he explained that he was half angel/half human while cadence is a full blown vampire. & Me I'm half human/half vampire princes. AWESOME not...

See i'm not much of a twilight fan.

I'm not much of a ...ya that's cool suck my blood oohhhh demon from hell kinda chick. Me i'm cool with just being ordinary.

I want the whole white picket fence three kids nice house and a dog. But it seems like destiny has other plans for me.. *No pun intended* hahah.

"So you are a angel?" I said smirking at him coyly.  Chris was fiddling with his phone, and looked up at him

"Only half sweetheart." He said with a wink. 

I gave a half laugh and gave him a very serious look "I'm hungry."

He looked down as I noticed that boyish grin fell quickly

"I can't allow you to feed. I won't let you become a monster. As long as you keep a diet full of protein since you are only part vampire you don't need blood."He said as sweetly as he could manage.

I looked at him and laughed "Sweetheart I am not into blood. I am kinda craving a big juicy cheeseburger though..." I said as my cheeks began to blush.

Remember since I am pale when i blush it is very noticeable. "Why are you blushing?" He asked obviously confused

"Well i just .. I'm sure most girls you talk to eat salads or something like that..." I said trailing off.

and out of nowhere Chris started to laugh..and would not stop for five minutes.

"Chris are you okay?" I asked startled. I mean why would he laugh at that?! Does he not know how self conscious I am!? Jeezz Jerk...

"Destin...oh my god. Come on let's go get you some food before you have me cracking up again. " Chris said trying to catch his breath. He pulled me up with him and threw me over his shoulder..SHEESH He sure loves to do that and sat me in his pick up. He turned the keys and I heard the truck roar to life.

"Well babe where do you want to go?" he asked taking my hand. "Anywhere..."I said in a huff.

"Okay well lets go to the Polka dot drive in! Their burgers are the shit!"Chris said a little to enthusiastically.

I played with my long blonde hair twirling it between my fingers. Tryin to think of anything besides the fact that my life is completely turned upside down ohh...and the fact that Chris the guy i have had a crush on forever is holding my hand. 

I must of spaced out for a while because I heard

"Psst hey space cadet we are here and Miss Alissa needs to take your order."Chris laughed. "huh? ohh..." I muttered and looked over to his window at Alissa. This tan , blonde goddess aka my tormenter in high school. She was glaring at me "Well what do you want Destin? I don't have all night."She said rather rudely and then had the nerve to flash Chris a smile.

"Whatever Chris is having." I said quietly.

"Ugh okay. " She muttered at me.  I looked back at her startled. I mean what did i ever really do to this girl? Besides exist! The nerve of some people....

"Chris I will be back with your guys's food and then we can talk abou tonight. " She winked and walked into the restaurant.

I looked at chris and was suprised when i noticed he was not even looking at her. In fact he was looking at me. I smiled and then looked out my window.

I even fiddled with my phone. I don't know why though. It's not like I ever really text anyone.

It was quite the awkward silence while we waited for our food. 

It didn't help that my stupid stomache had to growl every five seconds.

"Sooo...Destin...."Chris said smirking at me and then for no reason at all he reached over and pulled me towards him. I snuggled against his chest feeling the heat of him against me. This is quite nice.* I thought to myself. I had just started to get comfortable when I heard that annoying voice

"Here you go Chris! I Hope you like it" Alissa chirped.

"Alissa I'm sure I will. Now please give me and Destin sometime alone."Chris said gritting his teeth.

"Aww baby I just want to make sure you and your...Destin come to my party tonight." Alissa said dripping with sarcasm. However, obviously chris is a moron because he took the bait.

"What time?" he asked

"9 sharp." She said her words dripping with sex

"We will be there"He said with a grin and with that she walked back into the restaurant and we finished our food in silence.

"So Destin tell me what do you think about getting as drunk as we can and making decisions we might regret tonight?"Chris asked inches away from my face.
