parties weren't exactly yeosang's scene but here he was, sitting on the balcony of chan's house with a apple flavored beer next to him, he was watching the party going on in the backyard while he got permission from chan, courtesy of jisung, to stay inside chan's room as the people crowded in.

it had been weeks, borderline a month ever since he's had that argument with seonghwa but the older didn't miss a day when it comes to texting yeosang about how he is or how was his day is, yeosang twirled the pendant of his necklace as he looked up at the bright stars, he wished seonghwa was next to him, it reminded him of their first kiss and it still makes yeosang's heart flutter everytime he thinks about it.

he doesn't hate seonghwa but his boyfriend needed to understand the importance of space, as well as the concept of trust "hey, how are you holding up?" yeosang turns his head at the voice as well as the knock on the glass door

"oh hey hyung, i'm okay." yeosang pats the spot next to him "we can always leave if you want to." says johnny, drinking the left over alcohol inside his red solo cup before settling himself next to him

"it's okay hyung, you wanted to come and i needed some sort of distraction." johnny sighs, scooting closer to him "you look so much in deep though, something bothering you?" he asks and yeosang just shrugs "hyung, am i being too harsh on him?" he asks, picking at the fray strands of his ripped jeans "in what context sang?" yeosang nips at his bottom lip

"you know, asking for space, we haven't seen each other in a while and i feel like i'm ruining us because i feel like i'm asking too much." yeosang admits, he does feel some guilt everytime he avoids the question whenever seonghwa asks if they can see each other

"i mean, for a relationship to work, the key is trust and communication, but you two are literally shit at communicating at the moment," yeosang snorts but he knew johnny was right

"and i understand that you're anxious and you feel pressured about moving in with him, you've always been independent, yeosang," johnny tucks a lock of his hair behind his ear, holding him by the chin so that they're facing each other "and the thought of him paying for everything is overwhelming you," he looks at the younger's wavering eyes as he spoke

"and i know you grew up doing the same routine every single day and now, you want to be able to explore and do things for yourself and you're scared that in every move you make, you have to ask for his permission." johnny relays, it's something that yeosang had expressed even before his fight with seonghwa, he doesn't want to feel tied down quickly, he's young and he still wants to do something on his own

"don't beat yourself up over it, how about you surprise him tomorrow, it's been long enough." he gives his warm cheek a kiss that makes yeosang feel better "i guess i could, thank you, i'm sorry for being a mess of a friend." he smiles sheepishly but johnny shakes his head

"happy to clean up all your messes, we should dip, i can sense that you're sleepy." johnny gets off the railing, offering his hand for yeosang to take as he swings his legs over.

he holds on to johnny's hand tightly as they leave chan's room, pushing through the crowd of people and into the cold streets "i don't wanna go home yet," yeosang says, swinging his and johnny's locked hands as they walked down the inclined road.

johnny looks at their intertwined hands and he wanted nothing more than to pull him closer and kiss him, he wanted to confess to the younger about the growing feelings he was harboring but it wouldn't be right
