"remember to call us when you get there, okay?" seonghwa nods as his mom fusses with his clothes and hair

"mom, i'll be okay and i will give you a call when auntie picks me up." seonghwa says with a laugh

"honey, your son is 21, he'll be okay, he can handle himself." their dad comments and she sighs

"i'm sorry, it's just that you barely come home from university and now you're going away for the summer." she says towards seonghwa

"i'll be back in no time, you can spend time with yeji while i'm away, before her trip." he smirks and yeji's eyes widen

"trip? what trip?" their dad turns to his daughter "i was going to tell you about it," yeji mumbles and glares at seonghwa who smiles innocently

"okay young lady, we'll talk at home." their mom says, not wanting her kids to banter even more

"i'll see you in three months then, i'll message you everyday." seonghwa promises, picking up his bag when he hears the call for his train

"i'll see you soon!" he hugs them all one by one, giving a especially long hug to his mom who he knows needs it the most

"i love you seonghwa." she mumbles with a smile "i love you too mom, dad, and sometimes you too yeji." he says playfully before getting a pat on his back from his dad

"you should go, you wouldn't want to miss the train and make your aunt sooyoung worry." he nods and he starts to walk away from them, looking back and waving one last time before disappearing to another section of the station.

he finally finds the train that'll take him to his destination, putting his bags on the overhead cabin and settling down on the seat, pulling his laptop out of his backpack to do some of his leftover school work for the next semester.

it had been a good 20 minutes since the train had left the station, seonghwa stretches his arms that had strained as he typed on his computer

"park seonghwa?" he raises his head to see 2 people that were around his age

"hi, do i know you?" the shorter of the two chuckles

"i'm kim hongjoong, we take political science together." he says, seonghwa just nods, not being able to remember the student

"and i'm choi jongho, i just know you through word of mouth." seonghwa giggles at his introduction

"mind if we take a seat?" seonghwa shakes his head, closing his computer and shoving it back on to his backpack

"so, what brings you on the train to gangwon-do?" hongjoong sparks the conversation, getting comfortable on his seat that he'll be in for the next 3 hours

"oh you know, just spending summer there, my aunt and cousin live there." seonghwa answers and asks him the same question

"jongho's grandmother lives there and i spend my summers with him since we were young." seonghwa was immediately captured by that information

"what is it like there?" he asks, letting them know it was going to be his first time spending time there

"it's quite peaceful and beautiful, that's why hongjoong hyung comes with me, especially now since classes stress us out, especially with hyung preparing for his thesis." jongho answers, opening a container that had sandwiches and sliced fruits, offering them to his schoolmate since it was going to be a long ride.

the three had fallen asleep after eating their snacks, the sound of the conductor's voice woke them up signalling them that they were only a few minutes away from the station

"can we hang out?" seonghwa asks, his voice was groggy and he takes a drink of water

"of course we can, give us your number." hongjoong replies, putting his hand out and seonghwa gives him his phone, yawning and running his fingers through his hair

"you never did mention where you'll be staying," jonho points out, standing up to retrieve their luggage

"that's because i don't know where my aunt lives." seonghwa answers, thanking the younger for helping with their bags

"how about we'll wait for who will pick you, that way we'll know." jongho suggests, since he knew the area pretty well as well as the people.

when they stepped out of the train, seonghwa was met with the gentle sunlight and the cool breeze of the air

"wow," he breathes out as he looks at the lush trees that surround them "it's beautiful." hongjoong smiles

"this is only the beginning, wait till you see the beach!" that made seonghwa's heart race, excited to explore more about the place and learn something new about it.

seonghwa texts his parents and aunt to let them know that he has arrived, getting a reply from his aunt that she's on the way

"guys, how about you ride with us," seonghwa offers and they kindly declined

"oh come on, so i know where to find you and its the least i can do since you're keeping me company while waiting." hongjoong eventually nods and they all sit down on the bench, seonghwa just listened to the them talking about all the places he needs to see.

"seonghwa! over here!" the three of them turned their heads, seonghwa sees his aunt who was waving her hands

"your aunt is auntie sooyoung?" jongho asks, almost lighting up while seonghwa was enlightened, what a small world they share.

"jongho! hongjoong!" she starts to jog towards them and welcomed the boys with a hug "i didn't know you were friends with my nephew," she approaches the taller boy

"oh, you've grown so much! the last time i saw you, you were about this short." she gestures just on her abdomen before hugging him

"we actually just met on the train, i didn't know you knew them." says seonghwa while they all lugged their bags to the car

"auntie has a cafe in her house that hongjoong hyung and i go to almost everyday, at least we know where to find you now!" jongho cheers and they pile inside the car, sharing more stories and getting to know seonghwa a lot more.
