This 'rulebook' gives you all the information you need about entering this brand new contest for authors who love and are inspired by the works of Jane Austen.
Status: AWARDS FINISHED
1. Your story must be marked as COMPLETE at the time of submission. If you subsequently make changes to your story and do not re-mark it as complete, your story will not be considered by our judges.
2. Your story must be written in ENGLISH. A the current time we are not able to consider entries that are written in other languages.
3. Entries must be the author's own work and no-one else's. We will accept collaborations but only where all contributing authors consent to entering the contest. You will be asked to list all contributing authors on the entry form and each author will be contacted to ensure they have consented.
4. Your story must be entered into one of this years categories and must be based on the works of Jane Austen, about Jane Austen herself, or about the era she lived in (i.e. 1775-1817). We are prepared to be flexible about timelines. If you're writing about Austen's nieces or nephews it's entirely possible that you're going beyond 1817, likewise if you're writing about Mr Darcey's grandparents' love story this might be based before 1775. All we ask is that you be sensible.
5. You must complete the entry form for the category you are entering as listed below.
6. Each author may enter one book per category and no more.
7. Your entry must not be part of Wattpad's paid programme.
8. Works being featured in the Regency Spotlights reading list does not preclude them from being entered into the contest.
