Ashleighs POV
I got into the office that morning. For once I was actually pretty happy. I don't know if it was because of what happened last might or because we were starting a new case today.
"Mornin fuckers" I laughed sitting down at my desk, opposite Riggs and murtaugh.
Neither of them said anything back. Muratghs ribbed his face and sighed. Riggs smirked, obviously finding something amusing.
"What?" I said
"Murtaughs house was broken into last night" Riggs said almost laughing
"Oh" I said letting out a little laugh. Riggs looked at me and started laughing too
"Hey! It's not funny you two" he said
"Right yeah sorry. What happened?" I asked
"A group of guys came in and tied me and Trish up. Threatened us all of we don't stay away."
"You didn't see a face?" I asked
"Not one. They had on hoods."he shrugged
"What about a voice?" Riggs asked
"That crazy motherfucker who did talk had a strange accent. Not German, not English. Kind of guttural. Really shitty accent." Rog explained
"Wait. Anything like what we chased the other night?" Riggs said
"Yeah, kind of like that." He nodded
"What about Trish and the kids?" I asked
"They're at her sister's house in Bellflower." He sighed
"Listen up! You heard what happened to Rog last night?" Riggs said, getting the attention of all of the other officers in the room.
"Yeah" people muttered among themselves
"Forensics get back with anything?" Riggs asked the officer leaning against the water fountain
"Not yet. They'll keep us posted." He said
"Well the point is We got to watch each other's
backs and fronts and everything other goddamned thing"
Well You can all watch my back in poker tomorrow. You in?"
"lf we catch these assholes." Riggs said
"Second that" I said sitting down on the desk next to him
"Count me in. I'm the big winner" Rog said
The rise of the officers all got back to their jobs. I stayed sitting on the desk next to Riggs.
"Hey you want anything from the vending machine?" He asked standing up.
"Sure surprise me" I said
Murtaugh looked at us both confused. He raised his eyebrows at Riggs who smirked back at him.
"Did I miss something?" Rog asked us
"No not really. Did he ash?" Riggs asked
"Not one thing" I shrugged
"She's still a bitch" Riggs laughed
"And he's still a dick" I added
"Hey you three, In here now" the captain said poking his head out of the office door. "I got something special for you guys"
"Yes, finally" I said
"A guy by the mane Getz,Leo Getz has been placed in protective custody. You guys are going to baby-sit until Washington sends the Feds." The captain said amused
