Her outfit~DFM
I stopped the first person to pass by, putting my hand on their shoulder. A slightly scrawny boy, brown hair peeking out from under his baseball cap. He jumps and turns to meet my gaze. The kid's brown eyes fill with fear. When he sees who I am, he tenses up, the fear changing to irritation. Weird.
"Oh, hey, new girl." His voice isn't friendly. It's borderline hostile.
Why do they have to call me that? I have a fucking name. Oh, whatever.
"Hey, is it required to eat lunch in the cafeteria, or can we eat wherever?" I ask, feeling too uneasy in the new place to sit in the dining hall.
The boy's nervous face morphs into a fake warm smile. Bipolar much.
"They let us eat anywhere as long as we get to our next class on time. Some kids even leave to go eat at other places then come back. You're welcome to eat with me and my friends if you'd like. Must be hard being new." His voice portraying he really didn't want that.
Yeah no. I have a feeling this kid would run me over or something.
"Okay thank you, and sorry I'll have to turn down the invite. I have a friend I'm meeting," If she doesn't get caught up in the chaos that is the lunch line.
He nods and continues the way he was going. I turn back to my open locker to see another guy leaning next to it. He has tan messy hair that falls in his dull brown eyes and a cocky smirk on his lips. He looked to be at least 6'4 and was built like a football player. Oh for Nyx's sake don't let this guy be a jock. He smirks at me like he expects something.
I roll my eyes, grab my phone, earbuds, and lunch bag before slamming my locker shut and walking down the hall to the left of me. The guy follows.
"New girl wait up! Why are you running off so fast? Wanna eat together?"
I glare at him and walk faster.
"Hey, that's no way to make friends. I don't offer to let outsiders eat with us often, you should take it."
What is this, Means Girl's lunch scene? I keep walking. Suddenly I feel a rough hand wrap around my arm and jerk me to a stop.
"I'm talking to y-"
I spin on my heel and give him the deadliest look I can muster. I'm sure my eyes are changing color. I hate when people grab me.
Kill him.
Calm down, you psycho.
You love me.
His eyes widen to the size of baseballs before he drops my arm as if I burned him. The guy slowly backs up, drawing the attention of a few people in the hall. That's fine. They'd get the message too.
"Don't ever touch me again." I all but growl.
He quickly nods and scrambles off in the opposite direction. Wimp. I turn my gaze to the people staring, and they run off too. I turn back around and continue down the hall, out the doors. I stop at the big tree in the middle of the grassy area outside the school. Perfect.
I plop down against the trunk and put my earbuds in. The air around the tree smells faintly of cigarette smoke, something I know well, letting me know this is a popular spot for the bad boy wannabes. Hitting shuffle on my playlist, I pull my tuna salad sandwich out and dig in. Headstrong by Trapt filters through, and I nod my head to the beat, watching the random groups of scattered students, all chatting or eating together. Normal. Who needs normality. I finish my sandwich and pop a peppermint in my mouth when I notice Lila running up to me like a madwoman. I shut my music off and yank my buds out.
She stops in front of me, bent over panting. What's going on?
"You okay Li? What's wrong?"
She bursts out laughing before flopping down against the tree right next to me.
"Y-you, you, bwahahaha!"
"Spit it out," I mumble, smiling slightly. Lila is a good friend of mine. One of my very few.
She got control of her laughing fit and beams at me with her bright blue eyes full of humor.
"You, scared the ever-loving shit, out of the school's star quarterback Eric Darrens, with one fucking look. He ran into the dining hall and began yelling at his friends to avoid you like the plague because, and I quote, 'She's a fucking evil demon, her eyes cut you without her doing shit! I swear they changed colors, man! Holy fucking shit!' and then he broke down crying!"
I snicker. I knew he was a football player.
"A demon huh? Think everyone will believe him?" I feel an excited grin stretch across my face. Maybe people would avoid me more than they already do.
"Who knows, you already terrified the rest of the school you psycho, maybe this will get the other half. Demon, he didn't realize how close he was. Ya gotta be more careful, thank goddess he didn't guess shifter." We both start full out laughing.
If you didn't know me I come off hostile. I don't like new people. My wolf doesn't like new people. Many kids here already figured out that I don't want to talk to anyone but Lila and Nicholai, and they gave me a wide berth.
Most times.
"I'll try to rein Rebel in."
"No one can rein her in, not even me. Like trying to muzzle a rabid dire wolf.
I heard that!
