"Alright then," Heather smiled sadly, "Well, I guess we should be heading out."
Holly didn't point out that the stupid human government wouldn't be letting her leave for a long while.
"Oh, thank the gods," Prof. Moore rolled his eyes, making both redheads look at the man complaining, "Please. I really do need to work here."
Holly giggled, "What work, Prof. Moore? All I see is papers."
"Oh, darling," Heather patted the curly locks of her daughter, "Don't patronize the poor Professor."
"I'm a Doctor!" Prof. Moore snapped at them as they left his office.
The pair of soldiers that had escorted Heather to the crazy Professor's office, were surprised to see the pair of redheads laughing as the Professor shook his fist at them. Prof. Moore had gained quite the reputation at the base here, from what Holly had gathered, being a human all too similar to a certain Autobot medic that Holly had caught ranting on a private comm-link to no one.
It had been amusing, yet awkward when Holly had accidentally stumbled upon the frequency. And she was glad that the medic hadn't discovered her presence before she managed to escape the frequency.
"So, gentlemen," Heather gave them both a charming smile, "Would you mind leading up back to headquarters. I do find myself in a hurry to speak with the person who runs this base of operations."
They glanced at each other before complying to the woman's request, leading the way.
Holly couldn't help herself as they walked through the halls, every chance she could get she was peering at human soldiers doing all sorts of stuff. She couldn't even begin to describe each and every task that she saw being done.
When they reached the center of operations, Holly stuck close to her mother, knowing from when she went into it earlier that day - had it only been a day? - with Lennox, how easily it was for someone like her to get lost.
Heather's hand was firm yet relaxed on Holly's shoulder as they walked through the chaos of the room. Their guides lead the way to the front of the room where a grumpy looking man was scowling at almost everyone in the room.
"All I ask, is that one simple thing is done," the man was shouting at them all, "ONE SIMPLE THING!"
Someone coughed and the man went to shout at them until he caught several people looking in Holly and her mother's direction.
Heather was not impressed beside Holly as the man immediately started butt-kissing, "Ms. Fitzroy, what a surprise," yep, he was butt-kissing, "I thought you were heading out as soon as you picked up your daughter."
Heather crossed her arms, giving him unimpressed look, "General Kirk," Holly kept the smile off her face at the unintentional reference to Star Trek, "As much I am disappointed to be interrupting-" the people around them certainly didn't look disappointed, "-such an important meeting, I only let you bring my daughter her to protect her. Now that there's no immediate threat to her, and my life, you can tell your bosses that I'm taking her home."
"Yes, Ma'am," General Kirk nodded, "Have a good rest of your day, Ms. Fitzroy."
Heather raised his eyebrow at him before turning, her daughter following her as they left the room that had gone silent behind them.
Holly grinned at her mother, “That was brilliant.”
The older redhead chuckled, “It was, wasn’t it. Did you see the look on his face?”
“That’s why it was brilliant, Mom,” Holly rolled her eyes, unconsciously listening to an Autobot com-link.
She frowned sadly when she heard a voice that could only be Sunstreaker, called out. She knew by the tone of his voice that he had made it a private com-link that would hopefully reach his twin somewhere in the universe. Holly felt guilty that she was even listening in, and quickly disconnected before Sunstreaker, or her mother could notice.
