Who's Going to Love me?

The first date (Anticipation)

"Uuuuh,"... I moaned as my alarm clock sounded off. Today was a special day for me. It's been a whole year since I have been on a date, so I figured I'll give it a try again. I mean what could possibly go wrong? It's just a date not marriage. Besides Linsey set this whole thing up for me.

You all are probably thinking, "Well who the hell is Linsey?" That would be my best friend of 12 years A.K.A. my partner in crime. We do everything together, literally. We graduated from the same high school and now we go to the same college...we work at the same bank, and live in the same neighborhood and since we live so close she goes to the park with me to walk my baby Pebbles. Hell every pay day we go to the mall and break the bank. There is nothing that me and Linsey don't do together or have in common, well I take that back. Our choice in men is the only thing we don't have in common.

See I like my man to have an edge to him, but she likes hers to be goody two shoes. She usually likes the choir boy; I usually like the boy that just comes to church. She likes the boy that sits in the front of the class, but we all know the cute boy with edge sits in the back. She likes light skin brothas.. and me I like my man to look like a hot cup of coco maybe with some whip cream, but definitely some Caramel on top. Anyways I'm sure you all get the point..our taste in men are completely opposite, but I will say her men are usually always better and stick around longer than mines and for that reason I let her set me up on this little blind date.

After snoozing my alarm a million times I finally got the urge to sit up. "Hey snookems", I called out to pebbles, my mini Yorkie who came up to greet me at the edge of the bed. "Is mama little baby hungry? Huh?" I asked as I petted the top of her head repeatedly.... Assuming that she was, I picked her up and walked to the kitchen to fill her cute pink princess doggie bowl.. "Let's see what Aunt Linsey is up to" I said to Pebbles, as if she could really understand me. The phone rang and rang "Is this girl gone answer the phone or" I didn't complete my sentence due to the nonexistent dial tone. 

"Hello, what was you about to say?" Linsey asked curiously through the other end of the phone. 

"I aint think yo ass was gone answer the phone, I was bouta come check yo ass real quick," I replied back in a sarcastic tone. She giggled as she began to respond. 

"Uh Excuse me I can't get to the phone every time Janessa calls, you know I do have a life and other friends to attend to," she said being funny. 

"Girl please, you know I'm yo only friend...literally" I said being an asshole. 

"Girl you know I got friends, everybody wanna be friends with Linsey," she said jokingly. 

"Yea yea... any who are you about ready to go to the park, you know my baby is dying to get outta this little apartment," I said back in a funny but serious tone. 

"Yea I'll meet you up there in 10 minutes," she replied. 

"Aight see you in 10," I replied as I hung up the phone. I grabbed my purple sequenced Victoria secret Pink Jacket and Pebbles, then left.

When I arrived at the park, I didn't see Linsey anywhere so I decided to sit on a nearby bench.. As I began to play with Pebbles, I could see someone out of the corner of my eye walking in my direction and assuming that it was Linsey I turned my head. Well it show wasn't Linsey for sure, but to my liking it was a nice tall handsome chocolate brotha, he had a six pack out this world, and to top it off he had sweat running down his body as if he had just ran or something.

"God damn," I said in my head as he glanced and walked passed me. 

"Uuuh close yo mouth," a familiar voice said. I turned around to see Linsey standing there with a grin on her face.
